Another vote for magnaflow 23120

Magnaflow (Walker exhaust) is a very good quality oriented company IMO. They supply major components for the new carmakers as well. They are part of Tenneco auto group. I'm a bit biased because I powder coat a lot of the machinery that makes their exhaust systems. My customer that makes the machines for Tenneco, also does work for Ford (among othere) and was rated in the top 5 suppliers by Ford for quality and timeliness nationwide. So at least the equipment to build their exhausts is top shelf. Of course, the powder coating is top shelf too!

just called and talked with Jeff. 1400 for the custom job. Way less pricey than the oem.

Just dug out my receipt, $1390. But that is considerably better than our OEM and from the manifold back, much smaller cats, and tucked over the frame. Y pipe is more open and the pipe is larger. I'm very happy with it.

$1400 is a good price if the system is high quality stainless steel pipe and 50 state cats, but high if he used aluminized steel and 49 state cats, IMHO.

I used advance auto [Walker branded] y-pipe and secondary cat.......connected to a Borla cat back. if I had to do it again I would use the Magnaflow SS y-pipe etc. no real issues with the Borla [on the truck since 2005] other than one hanger broke[seems as if that's a build/jigged issue][others reported same break at the front hanger] , but I got some stainless and made a better bracket[reinforced the bend]

I ended up piecing mine together with basal, and MagnaFlow parts from rock Auto. Spent about $850 for manifold back, and kinda wish I had just gone to a local shop to have it custom made. The gaskets that came with are garbage, and none of the mounts lined up, so I ended up having to fab some mounts to get it to stay still.

2 years later, and I'm still fighting small leaks to pass inspection. So yeah, 1400 to just be done with it seems ok.

50 state cats and stainless steel. It is a lot of money but honestly a good custom exhaust is another league. Welded together.

Here is my y pipe. Ignore the water spots. The oem and the aftermarket don't open it up like that and the whole system went slightly bigger all the way back. Walker muffler. Magnaflow cats. Sounds a little nicer too.

For those that have gone with the Magnaflow 23120, did you go with a second cat or just take the Y pipe with the single cat and create your exhaust system with that one cat?

2 cats. If you're registering your truck in Centennial, you will need both to pass emissions.

X2. The 80 passed for years with one cat but all the sudden the emissions monkeys started realizing it required a second cat and it failed until a new one was put on.

Thanks guys! Two cats it is.

Hey I see in your sigs that both of you have turbos. Where did you get that upgrade done?

Mine was installed 15+ years ago, and the system is no longer available. @Heckraiser has a thread here about his install from a list @scottryana put together.

In my wife's garage  Just click the "turbo" link in my sig.

Another vote for Magnaflow. Y-pipe with second cat. Beautiful products. Stainless. Total bolt up. No complaints. Passed CA emissions with flying colors.

Ok, everybody keeps giving us the same number for the Magna Y, and there are 800 exhaust threads to search. Can we please get the numbers for the second cat and tail pipe, including resonator?

Crazy thought, I know. But maybe call magnaflow? or list your year 80 in your sig so folks know what youre looking for.
