It looks great. I sort of miss that truck. It was just sort of a happy truck. Thanks for sending me a PM with a link to this thread. Since then I finished the resto on the charcoal 62 and I've been working on my kids' Cruisers a lot. I'm hoping to get started on my last Land Cruiser project. It is a 40/80/100 hybrid. Oh and last spring I gave up on my dream of restoring a 55 and I sold all of them. I really like the red and you and your wife have done an awesome job transforming it.

Oh hi everyone.

Truck has been pulling daily driver duty most of fall. Going to work on some stuff this holiday season. Got a special delivery from Australia:

I've got the Kaymar rear bumper and a full brake job to do. Hope everyone is well.

Just saw this thread for the first time tonight. Very impressive overhaul. You obviously did your research on the painter - they did a really nice job - not typical these days.

Looking forward to the kaymar install.

Glad you are back and looking forward to the bumper install pics.

Yea, he did a good job. I'm going to buff it out and put some sealant on the truck now that it's been a good while. Got to wait for the paint to fully cure before you go sealing or waxing it.

Glad you are back and looking forward to the bumper install pics.

Should be fun. I like the Kaymar because of the integrated lights and, oddly enough, the "diamond plate". I think the truck looks good with some chrome still on it. Has that vintage look. Those kaymar decals got to go though.

[O]==TOY==[O] =Better ;)

Nice work!

Agreed :-P

That checker plate would look pretty sweet if it was color matched red!!

You think? I really like the chrome on the truck. I think it really screams 80's.

Nice build!
I like that your wife helps you and is getting her hands dirty. My gf is the same way!
Two thumbs up to the both of you for a great build. I'll be in Seattle next week hopefully I spot driving around.!
Cheers
Jorge

Still need to do a ton of wiring (the integrated lights, license plate light, re-do the reverse camera, rear spots), but it's on there. It wasn't easy. Some of the holes were off. Not sure if it was something to do with Aussie vs US Cruisers. I had to slot some of the holes on the rear cross member and weld in some plate to locate new holes. I do like the bumper though. It's got a bunch of cool features and looks the part for an 80's truck.

this build thread is awesome! keep up the good work! we have an 80, but i dream of adding a 60 to the garage :) really inspiring!

Thanks. I appreciate the kind words. I hope to do the R2.8 Cummins Repower swap into the truck at some point. This old 3FE isn't quite up for the job of lugging around all this stuff.

Got two NATO Jerry Cans. I know I'll catch some flack for getting metal cans, but I enjoy the nostalgia of them. I'll get some photos of them in the holder. The days are still short here in Seattle.

I love the look of the metal cans as well. What is the reason ppl are against them? Weight factor?
