Pretty quiet in here... what are you working on? (6 Viewers)

Almost all of the newer mini splits have inverter compressors so they can output their full rated capacity down to -10 or -15. Heat pumps overall are much much better than they used to be

Holy cow, that is clean underneath

The more I work on this and look at it the more I like it. I really do like the dark chocolate interior and the cloth seats. I am not sure I would ever find another this clean on the east coast and under 200k. I picked up another OME lift kit for it and will either go 305's or 315's, leaning more towards 305's like the 97 CE I am selling. Saying all this, I think I will be selling the 93 triple locked one with the lift and 315's on it. I have a new set of leather seat covers for it and another ARB bumper and Warn 12k winch. I need to install those and swap the engine in it. If anyone wants it let me know.
Not sure how that happened?

Finally replaced the pilot on the fireplace. @NearJetties the table came in handy for me to work on! Also I did soap test any gas lines even the ones I didn't change to make sure there were no leaks.

It’s a factory 79+ power steering box. However, the pump was a non-FJ40 Toyota variant.

I’m waiting for City Racer to get more OEM power steering pumps in which is April at this point.
Look at Georg's @orangefj45 saginaw adapter to mount a saginaw pump on the factory PS mount. Saginaw pumps can be had at auto zone for around $60.

Thanks bud! Yes, we have plenty of the kits in stock. And the OEM pumps are readily available from the dealer; we typically keep at least one in stock as well.

Well I have done a few minor things more for comfort and all not really for performance....

Installed the Grom vline2 ... so far after only a couple of days I am liking it very much! All the extras of modern tech but the stock CD/DVD changer still works as well as the AUX plug!!

I removed the power socket and ran the USB from the Grom down there to be able to stick a USB drive loaded with music and videos to play or hook the phone up for both charging and for use of Android Auto ....
Since the radio and everything was out already and things were getting changed about ... out with the cigarette lighter and in with a dual USB socket with a volt meter as well. It does sit a bit far back to be able to read the meter while driving but when parked you can look down easily enough to check.

Again... while everything was out the Midlands MTX 115 GMRS radio fit perfectly into the ashtray slot.... like dead on perfectly!! Used the ashtray cover to fashion a cover plate for the bottom to cover the gap there and make it as "stock" as possible.

then ran the antenna through the firewall and mounted it with a Midlands MXTA27 Lip mount and put a Midlands MXTA25 3db gain "Ghost Antenna" to help increase the range and usefulness. Also it can be swapped for something bigger if needed or just removed to keep it safe.

If you haven't looked into these GMRS units you really should. As of 2020 and 2021 Jeep Jamboree is now using them as their OFFICIAL trail comms. So if it is getting a push like that it will, most likely, be the most common type on the trail. Especially since it can talk to all the cheap FRS hand held radios plus they have come out with new 5 watt hand held radios as well, but also able to use the higher power stations as well for greater distance as well.

It will not be better then a HAM radio as far as power and flexibility but it is a lot less daunting to use. There is still a fee you have to pay to the FCC for the higher power portion but the lower ones you can use free for the FRS and the FCC is supposed to be dropping the price for the GMRS from like 70$ down to 30 something for 10 years and covers the "family"

I also unplugged the rain sensor for the wipers... now I am able to set it to how fast or slow I want it to work the wipers ...

Had a banging noise in rear when turning right only. This turned out to be the culprit. New cross shaft, gears and bearings. Don't know how to get the video of the play in rear to work so the pic of the cross shaft is all I can show you.

I've seen a lot of things but never a cross shaft worn that hard. Was there still oil in the diff?

Yes, full of oil and running fine until just recently. It started feeling like it was inding on really hard right turns. Then it slowly ot worse and turned into a banging, but only on hard right turns. Perfectly normal going straight and left turns.

Replaced the dash pad of my 62 with an OEM dash pad. The original was in really good condition other than a crack right in front of the steering wheel but I’m trying to repair or replace what I can. Took me about 6 hours start to finish. Didn’t take any pics because now it just looks like an uncracked 62 dash.

I took a break and met with the former owner of Wildflower. She bought it new in 1994! She gave me a stack of maint records and the missing rear seat, ashtray and cig lighter. Pretty cool story of the 80 and amazed it was a one owner. Now I gotta keep it!

Window sticker?? That be cool.
No such luck. I have not looked over all the pages in the folder, it may be in there. It is not with the owners manual that I can find. I am still hopefull!

Trying my to figure why I’m losing coolant in my ‘96 with no leaks visible on hoses or the ground. Oil looks good. Ryan gave me some things to look for. Waiting for Sarah to get home with it to check it out in the WARM SUN!!!

Just passed MD safety inspection on my 2004 LX 470. Only issues were a couple of burnt bulbs and I had to remove the window tint from driver and passenger windows. I had the shop do a quick repair on the front passenger wheel as the chrome was flaking and had developed a slow leak. Now onto some deep cleaning of the interior.

One more @Crusha! Lots of parts now!

i will be parting a bunch of stuff in the near future!

Holy Cow, Rob!

Is the new one blue? I love that color!

Are the rims on this truck as nice as they look in the photo? If so, I'd be interested. My daughter's '94 could do with a nicer set.
