Got the sliders on. Still have to figure out how to get the 2 top bolts in on the passenger side. The stupid side by side cats make it nearly impossible. Maybe Friday when I have it up on the lift.

Also replaced the mismatched lug nuts.

Banged out the dent in the front dif cover. Made some armor for it. Got my front dif back in. front axles back in. Both hub assemblies back on. Lockouts on. Then looked down to see the backing plate eliminator and hub seal setting in my parts bin covered with a rag! MFing GD it!

Why do something once when you can do it twice!

Anyway, have to retube/ lengthen a spare 60 drive shaft for the front. Check the fluids in the SM465 and transfer case.

Started removing my factory skids to clean/prep and apply fluid film before putting on the BudBuilt skids... looks like its going to be a LONG weekend for me

Paging @emorth tail lights on a 77 Fj40. The replacement light has an extra wire from the reverse light. I need to swap the connectors from the new male end to my old male end.
Is that black 2nd wire from the tail light a ground?

The OEM tail light had 4 wires for 4 filaments: tail, stop, turn & backup. The housing was the ground connection. So, I suspect the additional black wire is an additional ground. Good to use if the 40’s mounting tabs are nasty and rusty. Pop off the lense and see if the black wire is attached to the housing.
Let me know what you find.

Diagnosed the noise on my Lexus as the gasket/seal between exhaust and converter being bad. What would cause this to wear out a month after the work was performed? Bad weld?
Anyways had my helper set up in the 4Runner. Kept him occupied and out of my wife’s hair.

Anyone willing to help me with skid install next weekend...?
Looks like I'm going to need a 2nd set of hands and some brains for this. I know the 2nd requirement is a bit of a stretch
