From the angle I can't be sure but it looks to me like the end on the right is a flare fitting while the one on the left is not a flare and seals with the copper gasket. Is that correct?

I think that's right. The question is whether or not the new slave cylinder can seal with a flare and then have 1/4 inch of threads showing or if it needs to seal with the copper gaskets. This is what Mike was getting at I believe. I already mounted the slave so I'll pull it off today and see what it looks like down in there. It's mostly for curiosity at this point b/c I ordered the new hose already and I'm assuming it'll be like the one on the left.

Got her naked and powerwashed.

A/c woes continue with mixed feelings.

Good news, the cheap leak detector I bought on Amazon found the leak coming from the drain pipe.

Bad news, I just replaced everything under the dash with new o-rings, Denso evaporator, Denso expansion valve, and Toyota pressure switch.

Good news, it blows freaking ice could when it has Envirosafe R12a in it and I don’t need a new compressor (rebuilt it last fall) or condenser.

Bad news, I have to tear the dash apart again.

Good news, I know all the tricks now.

Bad news, what else is there to fix down there?

The small section of pipe (88716-90A27) you reuse looked okay (dirtyish one in the pics) but if it isn’t they’re NLA. I was able to find the part from Amayama in Japan and ordered it. We’ll see if they actually have it in stock though.

Otherwise used from CruiserParts it’ll be. I want to have a known good one before I open the dash back up.

On to another issue. While the 40 was down I decided to add caster wheels to the generator I picked up a couple weeks ago for cheap. To get to the bottom I tilted the generator at an angle and apparently it was long enough to fill the combustion chamber. I pulled the plug and pulled the cord and a stream of oil flew out. After learning that lesson I stuck a paper towel over the holidays and pulled the cord about 20 more times but still when I put the plug back in I can't get the engine to fully compress and turn over. Anyone have any tips to get the oil out?

It purity much trash now. I’ll come by and pick it up for you!

Let it set for a day it should be ok.

Yeah right, bought it for $250 from a guy who was leaving town a day later. 4500 watts continuous plus the Honda GX motor. Figured I couldn't go wrong there. He said the thing only had about 10 hours on it. Still has all the factory hang tags on it.

Should I leave the sparkplug in or out while it seeps back in to the crank case?

Leave it out. Why not drain the oil and tip it to empty any oil in the cylinder?

Finally decided to try and clean the AC condenser. Does anyone know where the vents are on the outside that pull in fresh air? They have another can they want you to spray in there and I can't find them.

Edit: duh, it's the vents on the cowl.

About to hit Charlotte on my drive back from ATL with the new 100 after the wife dropped me at BWI.

Lots of signs for Jesus, fireworks, adult stores, and guy fieri dinners, drive-in’s, and dives

LX470 hood struts, always-on power port mod, lots of bulb replacements, AC condenser leak clean/repair, hopefully install the bluetooth adapter before the day is done. Oh, and parentsit the old man while my wife and mom (2 SEPARATE people :hillbilly:) get out of the house for fun and games. Making a stew out of all the meaty odds and ends from the fridges. Trying to reorg the garage a little bit more, too. Might've had a beer or 3 along the way.

Working on some nice April weather in June at Cunningham Falls State Park. View attachment 2003766

Love that place! Been going there/Cotoctin every year since I was 5. You guys hike to the falls? Have you guys checked out Misty Mount cabin camping right up the road? That's our go-to.

Sweet! Any mods in it's future?

Nothing major, keeping it wife friendly. Will do some
minor cosmetics— factory front flaps, a modern rear wiper arm, and replace the rear Land Cruiser badge (I don’t think it factory, looks like it may have been replaced when a scratch was fixed). Maybe delete the roof rack and wing. Biggest addition would be sliders at some point.

Edit: rear badge is original just the earlier style
