Thanks Dusty!

Can you also post a pic of the front seat belts and where they come into the seat?

Best,

Shane

AATLAS1X I look at the front bench seat this AM , It,s not original (about 100 hog rings )the seat has been re-covered with a OEM looking dark grey Vinyl, and light gray cloth inserts and not the best upholstery job...

Shane, if you like I can post a photo of how the seatbelts pass through a seat with the basketweave pattern :)

Again if one is going to make correct parts then they need to consider everything. I certainly would buy something just because it came on another vehicle of the same make and model if my part was original and different. Some people are in fact that picky. And when someone mentions there is another pattern it should be welcomed as good information not shunned upon by disbelievers.

Try finding parts for an FJ45LV!! Even SOR admits there are many variations and that's on a production run that is supposed to be 1/20th of the pig production run. Variations are more than likely in pigs.

Please post photos........

I got a pretty detailed year list, but I am still working on dates and such.

Post pics please!!

Many of them.....

Ah yes... I voiced my own opinion... something I think I have earned serving several years in the military.... and a few people get their panties in a wad.... then I try to explain why only because I think it would benefit the conversation so they would know where I can coming from and they get even more pissy... Oh well... cant please everyone...
Just keep in mind I'm the volenteer moderator of a "tech" section, when I say liberal I meant I let things slide that other tech moderators would not. That post was meant to put this thread back on track, no rebuff was necissary (I believe your point was made) ... I have zero issues with showing other patterns ;)

Well, here's some photos of the seatbelt area with that evil basketweave pattern :) Let me know if this is of any help.

I used to own an 1964 FJ45LV. Wish I still had it. :crybaby:

Well I have most of the parts I need but I'm always on the lookout for the rest! I figure easy an other year or two for the '45LV before it's on the road.

Do you currently own any FJ55's?

You have been asked to post up some pictures of the fabric.

Do you have any pictures?

Are you going to post any?

You sure could go along way at helping with things if you could come up with some pictures of the interior fabrics that you have posted up about out here.

is this a diesel?

Canadian model?

It's a diesel only because I swapped in the 3B https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-...972-september-potm-cruiser-guy-guatemala.html

We got the truck from a guy on the base in Minot, ND and the seats were purchased from a guy in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. As I was saying, if these are a recover then whoever did it can do any vehicle I'll ever own!! They look like OEM to me. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what year pig these seats come from. I can say they fit perfectly into the '76 with NO modifications in any way.

I do own an FJ55. It is one of several I have owned and driven. I gave my other one on a trade for a 40 series tub to James.

And my seats have already been posted by AAT. Those are my seats and my current FJ55 above. :bounce:

actually .... forget about it all.. I reckon I'm the evil pig owner and bad guy here due to having to explain things over and over and over again. Facts are facts... and now that I think about it people more then likely don't care that much about a stupid basket weave pattern. I'm a perfectionist and it shows in my work. I wont be putting in anymore input. People that know me understand Im not an ass... but I reckon this thread and certain people have made it out to be otherwise.... ban me.... I really don't care....

Dude come on.

I made one post about trying to get the facts straight in the beginning. That was it. No other post as I want to figure this stuff out just like the rest of us. Attacks will do nothing to help the cause except to get this post locked or moved into chat. I sent you a PM trying to explain that we are all in this together. We are all 55 owners. Few of us as there are we all need to stick together. Nobody is against you.

Here is a time line maybe we can figure out the exact options that were available.

I got the complete seats from Kief, I should be able to pick them up at where they were delivered tonight or tomorrow and report back on the 1977

Cruiser guy, its not the pattern that has me stumped it where the belts come through the bottom cushion instead of between the the back and bottom. See what I mean?

I don't follow? Stumped because other years are not that way or stumped about how it's supposed to be done or? Do you need more pictures?

It looks like the resto going on in Kansas has the same thing with the belt passing through the bottom cushion rather than between the back and bottom.

Stumped on the seat belts passing through a hole..........Never seen that one.....I wonder if it is for the basket weave only, not that its specific to the vinyl but to year, or port of entry???

Sorry, can't help you on that one! There are probably no unmolested piggys here in Guatemala and I don't see too many up north either. I'll keep my eyes open though and maybe others will post up what they have.

What do you think it looks like on the one from Kansas? Through the cushion or between back and bottom?

One thing is for certain at least one if not two pigs have seats with the seatbelts coming through the bottom of the seats both late model. Confirmation of a 76 or 77 pig on the belts coming through the bottoms would mean there were two patterns.

Pics I borrowed from the 78 build.

Hope that is the case.

On the 75 and earlier stuff the only difference I have seen is some have holes for head rest and some don't. I know a 75 does. I think headrest were only offered in the early pattern from 73-75. I think. Which can be easliy added with a gromet. Which is what I plan on doing.

Interesting the gromets look to be about the same size as the rear seat air holes. Can anyone confirm?

Edit: According to the EPC Headrest were offered for every year pig. SO I'm assuming it could have just been an option.

It got seat belt holes too. Original or recovered ?

I remember test driving a new FJ55 w/P/S & A/C @ the Toyota Dealership with my Dad in 1979 I thought It had Cloth seats :hhmm:

Holy crap is that fabric??

Its not factory is it? The vinyl is not, well that I can tell..

Shane

I really Don't Know ? maybe It was something the Locals dealership did ?

as I remember in 79 the 55s weren't selling very fast at all.

Just maybe...

It's pretty Hot in Las Vegas Nv in the summer and Vinyl not very popular with us Locals..

I do believe this is a local Truck.

On my 78 and the 79 parts truck the seat belts come through the bottom seat with an electrical buzzer; did score a supposedly original seat with an unusual black basket weave from a dude that had owned a 69? fj55 several years ago........no sign of any head rests on it though.........the 78 has the setup with belts through the seat and was reupholstered:hhmm:....the seat belts that I got with the 69 ? seat are marked 1972:confused:

Lou, your first picture could be my seat!! Here's a shot of the basket weave and the grained vinyl together for reference. If your seat and mine match I honestly can't see it be a recover unless both were done at the same shop at about the same time.
