Im quite proud of this 40. Shes running a driving well with the help of @Trollhole.....Lots of things still to do to her, but shes a keeper! I dont name all of my vehicles, only the special ones, so Im calling this one "Ruby", obviously because she shines and sparkles like a ruby...

I started working with some good old fashioned Turtle Wax heavy rubbing compound to bring back some color to the paint. Dont mind the rust holes, I am cleaning them, treating them, putting some paint on them and will cover them up with Specter Off Road stickers and such and call it done.

Rear seats arent bolted in yet, waiting on the bracket kit from Specter. They are long jump seats that Ive had for a couple decades, and moved with multiple times. I also plan on installing a Smurf/Sky Blue rear step from my first 40 that I got over 30 years ago. The wheels were mounted on a 62 I had and wheeled pretty hard.

Looking good! I'd need a few more stickers than yours to cover up rust holes, but it's a fun drive either way.

I'm curious about the brackets you have on order to mount your long jump seats with the stock roll bar in place. I couldn't find them on the SOR site, but did see a set advertised here several years ago here.

I have an old set of long jump seats from a 69 that I can use for my 79, but my setup is a bit more complicated because the retractable seat belt mounts to the lower roll bar on mine that may interfere.

So it says this bracket kit is for the early 40s to mount the seats if you add an aftermarket roll bar. My 78 has bolt holes in the side of the tub that look like they are in the right place to mount the early seats with the factory 78 roll bar. We shall see...

Thanks for the link. Yeah, seems like that kit may not work for my setup, factory roll bar with seat belt retracters mounted to the lower roll bar.
Once you get yours finished maybe you could post a Pic? Still unclear how it works.

Well my shoulder harnesses mount to the roll bar as well, I dont see why that would prevent this form working. The only possible issue I see is if the bolt holes for the seats are in the wrong place. Heres a pic another user sent me with the brackets in place.....
