Attach conduit to the ceiling and run the cables through it. Pull enough cable through so you can have flexible mounting positions. The conduit can be spray painted to blend in with the ceiling and there are tons of mounting options.

I have been wanting to buy one for my 6.0. Mainly to turn off the check engine light that came on after getting it bulletproofed. Correct me if I’m wrong Johnny but I think it’s because of the EGR delete.

Sounds like the case. I think they allowed you to bypass some of the really crazy emissions stuff on the '08-up, I don't really know anything about those though.

I briefly looked at the tuning modules but decided to just stick a new stainless EGR cooler in there and leave it stock. No CEL here...

Yup. Check out Warren Diesel. I run their injectors and tunes.

In short a guy takes a z06 with a 7.0 ltr V8, throws it out puts in a 5.3 with a custom flat plane crank. In my mind the question of why comes up. I personally don't think it sounds that great compared to the LS7 and at the same time he took a ton of time and a lot of money to come out with 55 more HP and 25 LESS ft/lbs. It doesn't say how much it cost him but I can only imagine what the original engine would be producing had that money just been spent on that.

I will have to research this sooner than later. My first NC inspection is in November and I’m pretty sure I can’t have a check engine light on when I go.

That is true based on my understanding.

I believe that the CEL can be on for safety inspection but not for emissions which your truck should be exempt from.

I'm fairly sure that the jetta got passed for safety inspection with the CEL on since that thing was having a slew of sensor failures at that time frame.

Last time I went through all of this, the check engine light has to be off to be able to pass a SAFETY inspection, just like emissions equipment on a stock 60 has to be there to pass a SAFETY inspection.

Del, go get your truck inspected with the CEL on and see if it passes a safety inspection. I'll bet you a beer it won't. CEL (in the gobment's eyes) can indicate a safety issue as well as an emissions issue.

My '84 60 passes safety with no smog pump, no egr, no nothing. I do have a cat, but that's it. My '94 is due for an inspection now and the CEL is shining bright as the sun. I'm hoping JohnVee is right. Fingers crossed.

The inspection requirements vary by county. In Wake county, unless you're exempted by the 35 year rule, emissions equipment has to be present. I was unable to pass inspection in NC because I was desmogged. It wasn't until I converted to diesel, which made all of the components under "Tampering Inspection" N/A, because diesels in 1987 didn't have emissions gear.

See highlighted area. Key point, safety inspections, depending on your county, can evaluate emissions equipment, even though it's not an "emissions inspection".
