Unknown make (Holley?) locking hubs (you'll have to zoom in). Turns free, with one hand. I haven't pulled them off to check, but I assume they're 31 tooth splines (1977 OEM count).

Apologies if I am overstepping bounds at all -- but am up in Northern VA and am interested in an 80 series cruiser a fellow mud member had posted long ago in the Raleigh area. Talking with the owner -- but a lot of unanswered questions, like how it ended up with a pitted/cracked head, how much a toll its time in Massachusetts tool etc. Wondering if anyone had set eyes on this one or had an idea how bad that underbody rust is and/or other problems before I make an 8 hour drive to Raleigh to see it in person? Thanks all.

I haven't seen this truck and curious if others have as well. A triple-locked 80 shouldn't be on the market that long, so it gives me a red flag that it's been sitting and the drastic price drops as well (although starting price was way too high). They added undercarriage and interior pics to the post, and it's not terrible, but would need a lot of man hours remediating rust and refurbing interior pieces if you ever wanted to make it "nice". Completely agree with all your points. Clearly people are steered away by something. Carfax showed 10 years in Massachusetts- that was my first guess. Talking with the seller - he is pretty short on info. I am definitely interested in a project, but only to a limit if you know what I mean.

This very likely is the answer to a lot of those questions.
11K for a MA owned truck with some pretty gnarly looking rust on the underside is the biggest turn off to me.
Plus from the pics, you can see that the front knuckles are very very close, if not needing a rebuild
