Out of curiosity, I looked to see what is available to me here in Japan. This one came up...for the low price of about $38k. But I would not be able to import it.

This one is able to be imported and is a diesel/manual transmission...$32k.

There are plenty of nice cruiser's here. I wish I could take more than one back with me!

How come 47 pages with no pictures of the LC America team posing in front of the one or two trucks you guys say you actually own? Working on them, waxing them on Old Elpaso Blvd, eating donuts in them. Something that would help us BELIEVE in you. And really is there two Papps here? Or only one with two stage names? I want to Believe. Help me.

Ok you got me there. Man those are sweet trucks. So if you really have it and are pretty confident this is going to work, then why the hell didn't you bring this to SEMA? I can't think of a better place to get this ball rolling. Your certainly not getting anywhere here. Please send one of the twins from Vegas tonight on a bus to drive that thing back there for the morning. Its not to late. Maybe the feedback from everyone there will greatly help your cause.

Here’s a pic of a VDJ79 in the US, equally legal for sale, as in not at all.

Doesn't the DOT and/or EPA also need to crash test these vehicles?

I, like others, do appreciate all the hard work being put into this process by L79. Instead of all this non-sense bashing, let the chips fall where they may.

@John Papp:
-How many have you sold by US buyers thus far?
-What is the conformance schedule (DOT, EPA/NHTSA, including crash tests) and what milestones/hurdles do you see in your path forward?
-What is required deposit $ and when will the first 79 be ready for delivery?

Thats what I was asking 5 pages ago... I can see this working if they get all their ducks in a row. Motorex was able to legalize the Nissan GTR's before they went under due to bad management

decent read on it for anyone curious 'MotoRex and the North American Skyline Fiasco" - the Skyline GT-R wiki

Our system works, period. But we had to make a tough business decision and choose between attending SEMA and using our limited funding resources elsewhere.

you may be shocked who is actually on Mud......I know there is someone on here worth quite a few billion $ (and that is not counting the business side)

These two groups above have SIGNIFICANTLY more money than every person on MUD put together x 10,000. And they even said it was not feasible fiscally or risk-wise.

Had to out me, didn't you?

What do they do all day? Are they installing the magical black boxes into invisible trucks?

There is no magical electronic addition that can be made to a Toyota 70 Series to make it magically pass emissions. There are, however, modifications that can, and do, allow the 1VD-FTV engine to surpass Tier 3 US EPA standards. These, and other parts, were designed and manufactured by Black Box Emission Technology. Hence our using the phrase "Black Box"
