Just a bit.

Again - not sure how TMS USA would pull that off - essentially they would have to force whatever overseas dealership to not sell vehicles. They aren't being bought in TMS USA's territory, right? So - TMS USA would have to force some form of embargo in the potential countries of origin - which could be pretty much anywhere that sells left hand drive 70 series trucks worldwide. Not saying it is impossible, but that might be difficult to enforce worldwide.Stop the sale of vehicles to L79/LC America for example. Among other things.
So let's see. I want to buy a Jeep that I can take and manufacture into the best darn LC America on the market. So, I go to my local Jeep dealer and buy my Jeep. And you really believe that somehow that Jeep dealer is going to be able to legally deny me the sale? I'd like to hear about one time that has actually happened / been the case.Stop the sale of vehicles to L79/LC America for example. Among other things.

All Toyota would have to do is use lawyers, some of their cash and make a few phone calls to the US govt and all of this prepostery is over quick.
No, no time really. But if I don't work, I don't get paid. So here I sit at my computer working while my team is at the show. But, it's what you do when something is important to you.
Toyota has a tight grip on their supply chain.
Ever try to get a J8 jeep from the middle east? There ya go. You need to do more research. But anyway, this is a purely hypothetical situation. You don't have anything to sell or anything for Toyota to stop you from selling so...
Toyota's tight grip on their supply chain will have no impact whatsoever on our ability to sell, maintain and service these vehicles.
I think it is awesome that you believe that we could be a big enough threat to Toyota that they would look at us for more than one nanosecond and think that they had to invest their time, energy and resources into shutting us down. If only we can be so fortunate.
And you believe that this U.S. President and this U.S. government is going to let a Japanese corporation or the Japanese government tell us to shut down a small U.S. start-up company like LC America? Can you imagine the hay that could be made in the press? It's just not going to EVER happen. All Toyota would have to do is use lawyers, some of their cash and make a few phone calls to the US govt and all of this prepostery is over quick.

I'll illuminate what I am saying with two examples:
1. Friedkin Family that owns Gulf States Toyota (one of the largest Toyota distributorships in the world) has a fleet of these 79 series trucks in LHD flavor on one of their many hunting ranches in the US. They were purchased legally outside of the US and brought into the US. The Friedkin family tried like hell to make it worth their while convince TMS and TMC to legalize these for the US market. Toyota said flat out NO. So, they registered these as fleet/off-road vehicles and they only operate on the ranches and have never been on a regular road in the US. Ever. Except on a transport truck to the ranch.
2. A very large dealer group proprietor in the US who has a direct connection with Toyota tried like hell to get these trucks legally imported into the US for regular use a number of years back. After an array of lawyers from both sides discussed the possibilities, discussed with the US government the possibilities to legalize these trucks, etc., said proprietor had to go to New Zealand to buy these trucks, brought them into the country on a 1 year exemption (just like LC79America) and then unfortunately they had to leave after that.
These two groups above have SIGNIFICANTLY more money that every person on MUD put together x 100,000. And they even said it was not feasible fiscally or risk-wise.
3. The Chief Engineer of the Land Cruiser program at Toyota Motor Corporation Sadayoshi Koyori himself even said that the 7x series trucks will never be legally available for sale in the US through TMS, USA or privately in any way shape or form.
