You are all right -- I said I would not be back. But then a fair amount of time goes by and I think that I have something to share about our build that no one could possible want to piss on -- but piss on they do. Shame on me. Moderators -- I would love to have you delete this post.

What we like and what we can have are two different things. But what we sell has to be modified to meet EPA and DOT/NHTSA requirements. Everyone will receive ALL of the original parts back when they purchase a vehicle to do with as they please.

and the only DOT compliant thing on the 70....

The B.A.D. Wheels Bead Lock is the only DOT compliant single-piece and 100% maintenance free bead lock wheel on the market, and we are very proud to be able to offer them as standard equipment on every LC America that we produce!

Assuming you meant "thread"...you didnt create this thread to begin with. We--the Land Cruiser community--did. (Thanks @PIPA !) So I dont see how its your place to even suggest this. Only reason for it to be deleted would be to hide this record from your potential victims.

To each their own on the build choices.

Steve is a stand-up guy.

I agree and I do feel slightly bad for jumping all over their asses for their choice in wheels (however terrible they may be) on their not-federally-approved-for-import truck. However, hypothetically speaking as if the truck was legally, federally imported for resale, if the wheels and tires must be replaced on them for DOT compliance, why not let the buyer specify their own wheel and tire combo?--its like the first thing they're going to go and change right off anyway....

^^^^^This man speaketh the truth

As usual, the Papp(s) skip over the questions, focus on any criticisms, jump straight to the insults and then cry about being the victims. The routine is getting old, but still entertaining.

Perhaps the administrators at 'MUD should add a subsection to the 70 Series classified section.
Maintain the current "classified section" ...... You know the one where an actual vehicle is currently for sale but then add another section referred to as "future classifieds" ...... For vehicles that may be for sale at some point in the future. This new section would add a touch of mystery to 'MUD and everyone likes a good mystery. :)

So they got one legally imported, but on testing exemptions, which means nothing to us because we still can't buy it. I'm assuming to see where the diesel is at, and to do whatever modifications to pass USA diesel emissions.

Say they got it to pass EPA standards, blah blah blah. Wouldn't they still have to crash x amount to prove they are or are not up to the NHTSA standard? And if they fail, have the proper work done on them and crashed again, to check it said work? Maybe it was said earlier and I missed it.

And those wheels look like s***.

Anyone remember Motorex?

I usually try to refrain from making comments about other people's choices in wheels. I worked at Discount Tire years ago and have seen some pretty ugly crap go on some pretty nice vehicles but always kept my mouth shut. Honestly I should have not said anything about the wheels anyway as those can easily be sold to anyone with a mall cruiser JK.

The discount tire location I worked at was right in the middle of 4 dealerships. At least 1/3 of our customers were people who brought in brand new vehicles for a rim swap job which includes tires sometimes too. I was able to get me "new" tires for my truck for much lower prices by buying those OEM take offs. A perk of that job that I miss.
