Not mine, but supposed 2016 Land Cruiser Double Cab Pickup for sale...

Don't take my word for it, feel free to ask the EPA. Caught the Papp(s) in yet another lie. So many that I've lost count.

These are testing exemptions that this company acquired to be able to do testing on these vehicles and nothing more. This is a temporary exemption that requires these vehicles to be exported or destroyed at the end of the exemption.

RE:
Can you provide any information about these 2 “exemption numbers”?

Steve --

I simply stated that with the proper EPA paperwork, these vehicles do not need to be exported or destroyed within a year. Nothing nefarious about that statement.

This is the lie I'm referring to, this time.

We are the first company to have successfully imported the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series LC79 Dual Cab Pickup with the 1VD-FTV 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine for onward sales in the U.S.

I know at this point it's hard for you to keep track. Are you bringing donuts to SEMA?

Anyone can read what needs to be done. That doesn't include EPA.

Still don't see any updates for nonconforming. :D

Show and Display is one of the only ways without bringing the car over in boxes and assembling as a 2017 Land Cruiser 'kit' car.

State registered imports are done constantly, you just hope that it isn't flagged and that the officer that pulls you over is oblivious. Otherwise it's gone. I can think of too many cars that have been seized and crushed for this reason.

The LC America will conform to ALL US regulations and be available for legal sale in the US.

Brother -

There is only one thing worse than someone uninformed spewing what they believe are facts, trying to "prove" you wrong -

And that is that same person who refuses to learn or realize that they are wrong.

The statement "...Even a vehicle legally imported for testing must be re-exported after 1 year..." is so completely misleading and simply wrong; Steve, out of anyone here, knows better. Or at least he should if he knew what he was doing.

Read the code gentleman. It is online. Everywhere. Read the legal code. I did. You can too. The answers are all there. Take the effort, take the time, read the laws. Not the summary three-page crap on how to import a vehicle - go over the thousands of pages of actual law. Then come back & say this is a lie.

John, this is the wrong venue - Steve is a competitor, Phil just wants to argue, and no one else responding has actually read the law from first to last as we have.

And those real bead-locks, once they have the sacrifice rims on them? Sweeeeeet!

(Yes, I promise not to write another thing)

This thread makes my head hurt.

News flash -- the "stock" version of this vehicle can't be imported and sold legally as is in the US.

Mike or John or whoever you are,

I posted what the EPA said regarding your temporary imports. Straight from the EPA. Can’t really refute that.

We are not competitors. First, I actually sell vehicles. I don’t post dishonest ebay ads claiming to have something that doesn’t exist, only to have to admit to the lie later. Second, selling $85,000 trucks would not affect how many $20,000 trucks I sell. That is, if you actually had a real product to sell.

Happy to meet and talk at SEMA, if you’re actually going to bring information and not just hurl insults and lies like all the nasty emails you’ve sent me. I don’t need to waste my limited time there hearing more vaporware claims when I already have a full schedule of actual business to conduct. I was bringing my checkbook. Sorry to hear that there’s STILL nothing for sale.
