You Cali. boys don't know how good you have it........ I've spent time during summer in Phoenix 110-115 and I 'd take that any day over 100 and 100% humidity..... the south is hell in the summer, trust me

but don't fear guys we'll be putting in a full weekend on the LV this weekend, hope to have the rolling chasis complete

:grinpimp: Yes we do ! just cant help giving you a hard time. We are dealing with our own weather issuse Current: Partly Cloudy
Wind: NW at 8 mph
Humidity: 25% 71°F

JH weather today

Is this late winter or early winter? light snow this morning and got up to 53 today.....hedging on my trip to Florida.

Waiting on some updates.....Slacker

We're Back!!

I am sure some of you have given this project up for dead; as it seems like forever since I have made a worth while update. You guys all know how life goes.... all our free time seemed to vanish for the past month or so, but we have been working in spurts on the LV and have been making steady progress.

Pops and I are dedicating our whole 4th of July weekend to this project so hopefully we will be making great strides!!!

In the time since our last update, we have done lots of blasting, wire wheeling, degreasing, and painting.... it doesn't make for the most exciting pics but I will share what we have

Installed the new Old Man EMU springs, bushings, spring pins...... she should ride like a dream now!! Also married the axles and frame back together, that is the kind of progress we like to see:bounce::bounce2:

Took an old set of 32x9.50 TSL's mounted on stock rims that I had lying around from a previous project and decided to use them on the LV for the time being as we couldn't find any "old school" tires in the size we wanted. We gave them a quick blast and then painted them using the same Eastwood extreme Chasis paint we did on the frame.

The last messy job left from the drivetrain is the trans/t-case and we started disassembly on it last night. We have a rebuild kit for the T-case on hand, but have decided to not do the trans. as I don't have the proper tooling to attempt that job.

Although as it turns out the trans. was shot, when we went to pull the t-case off of it the complete output shaft and bearing slid out with the t-case. Also the needle bearing where the input and out shaft meet up completely discentegrated.....lucky I have 3 or 4 spare 3spds in my parts shed so we should be good to go:beer:

Well that is where we stand at the moment! We plan to get the drivetrain fully rebuilt and back into the frame this weekend and them move onto the body:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Oh I forgot to mention possibly the most exciting development in our build of late.......

No more heat stroke for my poor 58 year old dad, I think the 100* heat was starting to get to the guy:eek: In his eyes this is a thing of beauty!!!!

Now we have the chassis in our newly A/C'ed garage this will surely help speed up our progress:cheers:

Y'all are moving right along with things! Would still like to stop by some time, have a look, and wrench on it with you on some Saturday. On my way to AL this weekend to pick up my own projects! Lots of good greasy fun ahead!

well it may not seem like much progress but it sure felt good to get the new tires and rims on the chassis tonight...... given it was a Friday we couldn't work to hard :hillbilly:

Your making some great progress! Need to set a date for a HAMOM or something so I can say I have to come down and help you. ;)

Well the weather hindered our progress today; rained off and on most of the day :frown:
