So today, we drilled the hole's for the inter cooler tubes, cut and welded the steering box brace, to clear the 6BT, also the spacer for the steering box, and placed the tranny and 6BT in the frame

This is moving very fast. Want to do one for me? :hillbilly: How does the stock trans hold up behind the Cummins? Probably not to bad if the power isn't turned up? Will you need a spacer on top of the springs to maintain the old ride height? Looks great so far.

How long did it take you to get the whole kit in your hands? I'm sure being in Oregon helps.

I have not yet put the body, and I am not sure if I need spacers, today Dustin solved an eyesore, the power steering hose, we changed this out, from the older Diesel Adapters kit, it looks a lot cleaner

I got it, really fast, I know Dustin personally, but I had it for a year before I could actually start on it, people don't realize he is pretty much a 1 man shop, and he moved last year, and not just moved, but had to build a shop and move all of his machines

Ask me any time I either know, or I can ask, my friend

So we did not do much today, just installed all the inter cooler hoses, and the sway bar spacers, to clear the oil pan, set the body down, to see the fitting, I will not be working on it, until sunday, I'll be putting the 1" lift kit, fuel and heater lines, and air box

My whole swap is a Diesel Adapters, he makes everything, that is not a Toyota/Cummins part, with instructions

Saw your old engine on CL lol! Was hoping you had the transmission available and then came back to the build thread and seen that you are utilizing it. Would have been good for templating.

I got my harness, done and installed, lift kit installed, will be putting it on the road tomorrow,

What are you shooting for as far as power and torque numbers

This is the swap I'm planning on doing in the future with a 24v that mated with a tree it still started after the crash but the moron who pop the truck was a bit of a tard and cut every wire he saw so it wouldn't start before I pulled it

Nice build. Do you have detailed photos of the steering brace drop? I'm still wondering why this needs to be done as mine is still stock. Does it just make things easier? At some point I will cut it out and weld back on in order to remove and refresh the oil pan.

does he have any more friends who need to do the same thing? I have a 96 just screaming for a diesel... god I hate the 1fz.

good job on this project. that 6bt just looks sexy as hell in there...

@shocktower that was one quick swap. Most of the ones you see on MUD take months, heck, most companies take months.

His friends are, not as gifted as my son;)

I set a time line, it actually took longer than I thought, since I have worked on 4 others it helps if you know all the quirks, when we did this we took lots of pictures for a better instructions, for the next guy who buy's a kit
