Do you know what the labels say?
That’s one interpretation. I was told it says “miles of smiles”. 😉 Mine were in much worse shape. I assumed they were factory though since there was one on each jump seat.

Before I clean up the rails, here is what was left of the original weather stripping - not much.

The kanji to the left says "made date." The kanji at the top says "inspection method." My guess is these were fill in the blank tags and the ink has faded. I'd also speculate that these were supposed to be removed before the trucks left the factory but some were overlooked and once the hardtop goes on, they're really hard to see and access.

Guessing they're quality control stickers -

IIRC, your "recipe" had started out with CLR and then boiled linseed oil and then went to CLR and Fluid Film and now you're at CLR and then a coat of wax?

I've got a "patina" project I'm looking at and I'm considering my options.

Fluid film has totally replaced BLO for sure.

The wax and polish all depends on the paint. My 45 paint is so texturally rough it can’t be waxed but I wash and reapply oil as needed

Given something you could use both on, how does the oil and wax compare to each other as far as lifespan or other factors?

Wax and polish lasts much longer

Hmmm... I would have expected the opposite
The oil soaks in to exposed rust and protects it from getting worse. If it’s paint the oil will shine it up but it also attracts dust and dirt.
