Could of suffered from "stretchy nuts" :)
A truly terrible affliction for certain!

My mind had wandered back to the last time my driveshaft came in contact with a rock..,

Nice. That looks painted end to end including the U joints. I have been thinking about what and how to refurbish my drive shafts. They seem to be generally in good shape but lots of surface rust.

Why did that happen is there not enough flex in the line? If you can’t get fixed before your trip I have this you can barrow just add water, only problem is your wife might have curly hair by the time you get back

I recall dropping my rear drive shaft back in the 70’s on my 72. Can’t remember the reason. Probably lost bolts. Drove it for a couple months with front wheel drive till I scraped the money together to fix it. Or many I was just to lazy or to stoned to fix it.

so, it's been awhile since i posted about Steve(aka Lardass). we last drove Lardass to last years pig party, came home worked on house then had my accident, so Lardass has been sitting for about 8 months, just started him weekly to charge batteries.
But last week i felt like a spin, so checked fluids, cranked him up, put in reverse, started to back up, brakes locked up. crawled under and loosened ebrake , still locked up. Talked with the Knorr Bros, we're coming over. they come yesterday to look, we figure out rear passenger brake locked up, we jack it up, put in reverse, then forward to try and get it to release, no go. we finally get drum off with some effort, clean, readjust, put drum back on, good to go!
take it for a short spin, perfect. Since I'm still not 100% after accident, these guys saved my bacon, i appreciate them so much, and their willingness to help a brother, a big shout out to Dale and Mike!
