Pics will have to wait. I doubt I got any good ones, anyway.
I'm happy that the turnout was great and people seem pleased with the event. Some new members got to spend a long weekend and see how we do things - and they all expressed interest in more events!
I didn't get to mingle as much as I'd have liked. Nor did I fully execute my plan of wiring up the 80 for new lights and assorted stuff while tending the pig. That doesn't really matter to me because one of the reasons for that was all the interest in what I was doing and the ensuing conversations. It's always great to talk with others about mods and such. Getting ideas and giving ideas is much easier in person! I think that
@lumbee1 and I are on the way to accomplishing the same goals slightly different ways (and I'm sorry his wife thinks I'm draining their checkbook).
In no order, many thanks go out to:
-
@RedHeadedStepChild Jim for an epic journey in an epic vehicle towing a less than epic cooker.
- The entire BOD (old and new), whether they were there or not, for the behind the scenes work.
- @GLTHFJ60 Johnny for dealing with issues promptly and calmly.
-
@alk747triodad Kenny and Lydia for the location, cooking, cleaning, good vibes and more. And Lydia is responsible for having all the kitchen stuff on site like coffee makers, COFFEE, serving ware, mugs, cleaning stuff, etc.
-
@angerhater Shaun for keeping the fire and wood stoves going all weekend. So important.
- @BillWright for an early morning pre-breakfast butter run.
- Everybody who brought food.
-
@forrest5000 for use of the pig transport device (megacooler!).
-
@jfz80 for the impromptu RC repair shop.
- Anyone who caravanned to ensure the safety of others.
- Everybody who took pictures.
- Everybody who made it to the UNF work day.
- Each member who brought their family, friends and/or dog to come hang out in the woods and share a meal or two with ONSC.
