I bet @mtweller and the pack nation are going to have a hangover tomorrow.. Cheers

That's a big reason I wound up not going. By the time I was going to be able to roll out, I'd had missed the workday, and couldn't not watch that game. Had a feeling.

Ramon I missed you but you did the right thing.
I heard the score on the radio this morning and went DAYUM

Had a great time.
Got out there pretty late yesterday.... needed to finally have a day sleeping past 530 in the morning to try and catch up on the sleep that has eluded me the last few months. Caravanned out with Dave in his awesome 40 (this is one of my favorite 40s ever with how Dave now has it set up) and David Miller in the drool worthy 45LV.

Had a great time during the day relaxing, meeting new people, catching up with old friends and helping with the pig.

Sorry I left before everyone got up and I hope I didn't wake anyone up packing up and leaving. I couldn't get any sleep, nor could andrea (cruiser just isn't the right fit for us to sleep in the back) so we got back up at 330 and sat by the fire alone (except for Bill's smoke break :hillbilly:) untill about 5 and then we packed up and headed home to get a few hours of sleep before we had to start on our sunday projects at the house. I knew we would never get any sleep when the camp woke up and wouldn't get home till at least 12 if we stayed. Hope everyone had a filling breakfast.

Andrea got a few pics but not much.

Super rare BJ44 which I had heard about but never seen one in person (because they were JDM only and only 6 are known to have made it to the US)

What I was told abou the 44 was First model to have a bench seat in the back, only model to have a 2B engine (besides some micro buses in SE asia) and factory hard top on a MWB model.

2B engine... most likely the only one i'll ever see

Making sure all the doors were closed on the cruiser out by the road to make sure I didn't wake anyone slamming them in camp at the early hour

Also wanted to congratulate Sarah for her first event as events coordinator and thank Johnny and John Vee for their work with it also.

Of course thanks to our gracious hosts for the use of the venue once again.

Kenny and Lydia we have to get together soon, your place or ours, and andrea said she left all the puzzles on the table for you guys.

Heather and I had a great time yesterday, rolled in this morning a little after 3. We really enjoy our time at the barn hanging out with so many good people. Something about spending the day with a bunch of Cruiser Heads, their kids and a pack of hounds. Their sure was enough Cruiser porn to go around, I am impressed by the number of vintage cruisers in the club.

I must say that I am suffering a little LV envy, Dave your truck is over the top on the cool scale. Way impressed that you got it running and drove it to the Barn! Take your time with it and I am sure it will bring you years of fantastic memories. That thing just puts a big smile on my face.

I actually won something at a raffle, rare indeed. Thanks Much to Yeti and the club for a great raffle prize. It's pretty cool ;)

What a weekend! This was the first event like this for Linda and me and it far exceeded our expectations, including how cold we anticipated it being Friday night. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and are excited about the prospects for making long lasting friendships with you all. The work day was very fulfilling and the bit of wheeling was wonderful also. What else can be said about the wonderful food and beautiful venue where it all took place. Again, thanks to you all and we can hardly wait for the next event, although, I don't think we can make the Spring Tide event due to prior commitments. Cheers to you all!

For an event with no wheeling it always amazes me at the turnout. It really is a testament to the quality of the people in this club. Thanks to our amazing host. Kenny and Lydia, you guys are amazing. Thanks Sarah for all the hard work putting this on. John V and the crew outdid themselves with the food. Nothing short of amazing. I love seeing old faces and feeling like I just saw them yesterday as well as the instant friendships that are created with the newer faces. ONSC is second to none.

Awesome pictures everyone, thank you!!

I sent an email to the ONSC email list. In case you didn't receive it, here it is:

Members of ONSC,

I'm writing this email to follow-up on some of the points I brought up at our quick meeting on Saturday. Most importantly, I was remiss by not thanking the following people for their incredible donations to this club, in both time and effort, to make this event happen.

- Kenny and Lydia Monk. Thank you for, once again, hosting us at your beautiful property!
- John Vargosko and Sarah Stabley. Thank you for stepping up and doing all of the pig preparations and leading the Yeti raffle, alongside everything else!
- Jim Callahan. Thank you for being forgiving during the pig cooker saga of this weekend!!
- Finally, a HUGE thank you to everyone who came, especially those who brought pot-luck items!!

To keep this concise, the points referred to above are as follows:

1. ONSC will be donating $400 from club funds and will be taking additional donations from members of the club. We have already received $50 in cash. If you would like to donate, please send your money via PayPal to oldenorthstate@hotmail.com and include a note to specify that it's for donation.

2. ONSC will be enforcing the safety inspection at Cruisin' the Carolinas-Logan's Run this year. The form we use is on the website here:
http://onsc4x4.com/vehicle-inspection/
Please make sure to review this form and repair your vehicle as necessary. If you believe that any part of the inspection is inaccurate / does not apply / should be changed, reach out to me and I will start a discussion on your behalf, or feel free to start a thread on mud yourself.

3. As a reminder, the ONSC Pig Cooker is available for rent! If you would like to use it, send me an email and I'll coordinate getting the cooker to you some time before the weekend you reserve it for. Only current ONSC members are allowed to rent it, but the cost is only $25 per weekend.

That's about it!! Next thing on the docket for me is to get the ONSC store up and running on our website so y'all can buy t-shirts online :)

Thanks everyone and I hope to see you again soon!!

Pics will have to wait. I doubt I got any good ones, anyway.

I'm happy that the turnout was great and people seem pleased with the event. Some new members got to spend a long weekend and see how we do things - and they all expressed interest in more events!

I didn't get to mingle as much as I'd have liked. Nor did I fully execute my plan of wiring up the 80 for new lights and assorted stuff while tending the pig. That doesn't really matter to me because one of the reasons for that was all the interest in what I was doing and the ensuing conversations. It's always great to talk with others about mods and such. Getting ideas and giving ideas is much easier in person! I think that @lumbee1 and I are on the way to accomplishing the same goals slightly different ways (and I'm sorry his wife thinks I'm draining their checkbook).

In no order, many thanks go out to:
- @RedHeadedStepChild Jim for an epic journey in an epic vehicle towing a less than epic cooker.
- The entire BOD (old and new), whether they were there or not, for the behind the scenes work.
- @GLTHFJ60 Johnny for dealing with issues promptly and calmly.
- @alk747triodad Kenny and Lydia for the location, cooking, cleaning, good vibes and more. And Lydia is responsible for having all the kitchen stuff on site like coffee makers, COFFEE, serving ware, mugs, cleaning stuff, etc.
- @angerhater Shaun for keeping the fire and wood stoves going all weekend. So important.
- @BillWright for an early morning pre-breakfast butter run.
- Everybody who brought food.
- @forrest5000 for use of the pig transport device (megacooler!).
- @jfz80 for the impromptu RC repair shop.
- Anyone who caravanned to ensure the safety of others.
- Everybody who took pictures.
- Everybody who made it to the UNF work day.
- Each member who brought their family, friends and/or dog to come hang out in the woods and share a meal or two with ONSC.

Sorry i missed all the fun. Had a chance of a life time and took it. I was close to you all up there and did run into a few folks but i did not finish my school till almost 4pm yesterday afternoon. If you want to know what i accomplished just look at the second thing in my signature. A VERY small group it is in the world. Just over 50 people......

Sorry. Glad you all had a great turn out and a great time.
