If I had to guess I would say it wouldn't work. They may support the downward force if you box the setup tying it all together at the hood line, but I could see it racking if there is any shear load. It'll definitely rack if you extend the roller up to your roof line unless you triangluate it somehow as well as tie it into your roof rack.

Backwards mounting may or may not work. I haven't tried this. There is a relief cut in the mount to accommodate the curve in the hood line where the mount sits.
Thanks for the input - will continue using a piece of plywood or 2x6 on the roof/hatch 'kind of' works.

I’ve tossed around the idea of making a bracket to hold a pair of maxtrax in the spoiler location. I’m willing to bet you could make something better.

That looks pretty good as is 👍

For where my spare sits, that's pretty much the last visible area through my back window.

Thank you all for your support! You guys cleaned me out on Black Friday weekend.

100 series accessory mount kits currently out of stock but still available for backorder! Next batch ETA is 12/17.

super rad man, well done. There are some folks in the 80 section that would be super into this too. Awesome to see it as a diy kit as well.

Love it!

For those of us with 03+ models with the useless dvd / cd exchange in the console - any experience removing that to make room for this?

I would love a simple 6 piece roof rack foot mount option in 1/4" Steel that isnt adjustable, doesnt use spacers and doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Mounts that utilize the channel for footing. Pleaseeee

Thanks, much appreciated! I think the 80 might be covered with the wits end box, delta, smitty, etc.

I had a fort Knox like this in my old 80 - I'd be interested and given the cost of the Delta and WE isn't making them now for a bit it seems there might be more interest..... while in Big Bend this week I wouldn't of liked leaving my guns in the truck if I hadn't had 210 lbs of german shepard to guard things....

@reznunt THANK YOU for this! Been waiting for someone to comeup with a solution for the 100 series!!!

Awesome, glad to hear! I've been waiting for years also and finally decided to build one.

There was an aftermarket changer in my truck at some point but it was removed before I bought it. From pics online I can see a metal bracket that bolts the changer down and looks simple to remove once the console is out. I'm pretty sure the lower half of the console liner with the DVD changer cutout is removed from the upper half the same way as the standard version with no cutout. Both lowers use the same upper. It's hard to describe here but I'm working on detailed installation instructions that should illustrate it better.

Good points. If there's enough interest I'd love to do an 80 series version. I really need to buy an 80 for prototyping parts.

Very cool....looks like a high quality piece.

i just want to provide an update, 6months or so of use and the antenna mount is killer... definitely would recommend. when it's time to put a ham in my 80, i'll be ordering another mount from you!

Awesome, glad to hear! I really appreciate the feedback!
