Threw the wiper motor on because I found it in a box.

Compressor from @orangefj45 (THANK YOU) in place with shiny new bolts (88899-60080).

Because this euro FTE had a viscous heater, it needs a new idler pulley bracket (88444-60120), 4 groove pulley (88440-60060), and 1240mm 4 groove belt (99364-31240).

It pleases me to no end that the last 4 digits of the belt P/N are its length.

Plastic alternator terminal cap (82823-22050) has also been ordered.

We are making progress. Radiator tomorrow.

Awesome work! Looks like you will have an empty shop when you are done. It’s nice to find stash surprises!

Love the work and progress. The last picture with the fan installed surprised me with the forward swept tip contours of the blades. Looks like an interesting design solution. Maybe your future pictures with fan and shroud installed will reveal more as to why.

Haha, not likely.

@bottombracket bummer about your hose being too short…

Ian, everyone’s hose is too short…

Great work GMan!

Good news, no, great news: everything fits with regard to fan clearance m inside the fan shroud and radiator clearance. It’s like we planned this or something.

Bad news:

I never drilled the holes in the front frame to fender mounts. The way everything lines up I’m going to need a 5/8 drill or a hole saw. And if I have to use a holesaw, I’m going to have to take everything off, including the inner and outer fender.

As I was trying to drill the holes with everything in place, I killed the chuck on my trusty Milwaukee 3/8” drill. Off to Home Depot for a new one and maybe a small arbor hole saw.

Yes, it is a HZJ79 reservoir (44360-60101). This HDJ100 intake manifold has three bolts only on the left side for the HDJ100 but it makes the reservoir sit too high. So I’m using a 79 reservoir and only holding it on by the two lateral bolts.

Finger points to empty hole.

Now that sounds like an ancient Chinese proverb, or maybe the last line of a haiku.

I’m sure there’s a lower profile reservoir, but I haven’t been able to find it yet

Reservoir too high
Finger points to empty hole
Bolts hold lateral.

I fixed the mounting problem with a 7/8” holesaw.

Starting to tighten up the body mounts with all of the bolts (91651-B0814) that I can find.

Holes are slightly eccentric, but that will be OK

My dang hose was too short. Life problems.
Generic 3/8” power steering hose from Advance solved the problem. At least I used OEM clamps (90466-16002).

Routing complete. Popped a quart of Dex/Merc in and no leaks.

44412-04010 should work for that hose. Proper ID and OD. It will fit the tube correctly and the factory clamps will have more bite.

My suggestion would’ve been a step bit.
There great, but he’s drilling both hole inline and there spaced apart. What he’s using is perfect for the job.
With a step bit it’s easy to over size and the usually better for thin metal not so good for the thicker metal of the body mount.
Also not good for two holes spaced apart.

@RevISK - I killed my 3/8” drill with a step bit and nearly chucked both of them toward the creek.

@cruiserdan - thank you! If I may be so bold do you have a recommendation for OEM vacuum line? 44773-60260 is out in the middle east and US.

I ran out of time to finish brake line routing, but to make up for using non-OEM vacuum hose, here is a OEM vacuum cap for the vacuum union. I’m running the FTE crossover delete, and it does not need any VSV’s for smooth shut down.

Hopefully more tomorrow.

I may or may not have been a small or medium part of this endeavor. Allegedly.

And I mean, today was the final salvo of absolute death.
