Driving a 25 or an early 40 FST with the stock doors on is fairly claustrophobic (for me), and I have never used the plastic in the up position. I have dreamed of a storage envelope or "hammock" between the middle and aft bows, a second ceiling, to store the doors and side panels when the are not needed. The doors pictured would be perfect for something like that, easy off and on, light, and thin.

couple of hook style ratchet straps on the bows and strap the doors up to the underside of the b and mid bows

i'm not huge on doors/top either. the point is an open top rig, but those awesome (for lack of a far less pc description) one speed wipers are working, i wanna use them when it's raining in the summer and top/doors makes that a far more pleasant experience ;)

Center is stock, unpainted is a Cruisernerd, other is a two piece

may seem small, but i got the gas cap cylinder rekeyed and it now works with the ignition key (sheba never got keys and she had the ignition keyed years ago). i like everything to work, even if we most likely won't ever use it.

other than that, have a friend bending up the brackets that bolt on and hold the bows to the tub, and i'm working with a company to fab the pieces above and behind the door...coming right along.

working on trying to get the steering wheel off, but it does not want to budge. bought a restore kit to hopefully fix all the cracks. we'll see if it's any good. hopefully work some more on getting the wheel off this weekend. it's been hit with pb blaster, freeze and release, more pb blaster and it's still tweaking the bolts and washers for the puller....

been spending time on the blue pig, need to get stuff done to it and sell it. now that annie's here, it's getting crowded again and we don't need three pigs....getting an aisan carb back on it, new headliner and windshield and have to fix some rust panels, plus need to get the 80 ready for rubithon....busy busy busy

I know everyone has their own trick and for me it's Sea Foam Deep Creep. In a side by side test of rusted bolts on the frame of my 65, Sea Foam beet PB hands down. Until that test I always used PB.

I need 2 of these. Any chance they can make more?

You are talking about the the ones at B pillar , no?

yes, he will make up a few extras if we can figure out a good setup. he's doing it from scratch, so he bends, i check and modify, he bends again, i check and modify, so bit of a slow process.

Cool thanks!

Aero Kroil?

if freeze and release doesn't work, kroil sure as hell ain't gonna help.

I have a complete set of OEM bows to use as a pattern. It includes the B pillar section as well as the portion above the doors. They are rusty as hell, even the east coast guys would agree.

I loaned it out to a guy to make his set and he was suppose to make me a set in return. He instead made two sets for himself and gave me my set back. D'oh!

They are cut in pieces and marked for easily assembly for a pattern. They ship real easy.

Let me know if you want to use them as a pattern. I ask that you make me a set as well and return the pattern so I can make my "B" pillar and the section above the door.

the actual quote was referring to the brackets that hold the bows to the tub. as for the b pillar stuff, i picked up that stuff from the fab shop a few days ago and it looks like it should work pretty dang good. for bows, i have zornffs old 40 bows and i'm only going to have to bend the b bow (different than later 40) and rebend a bow for mid because mikes old paki bows don't seem to match. mike didn't like them because of poor quality and the fact that the mid bow isn't wide enough to bolt up is a prime example. ;)

so, hopefully, one of these days, i'll get annie out of the garage so i can have some room to bend tube:D

thanks for the offer tho ;)

The brackets that are welded to the tub or the ones that bolt to the floor.
I have some tub brackets but never got my floor brackets back.

Was getting tired of the carb problems with Annie...needing half choke all the time, backfiring, stalling. Almost un-driveable. So, today, took the carb apart. Took the spare carb body, the one with the big-hole jet and plunger rod, put that carb body under Annie's air horn and on top of Annies carb base. Put it back on. What a difference! Needs no choke, will idle down to 300 RPM if I want it to. Smooth and quiet. Like a new LandCruiser.

pighead is totally understating his accomplishment...i've never seen a cruiser that idled soooooo sweetly!

we're working on bending the b pillar bow now and i've got the pieces above the door done except for the L bracket to the windshield frame. don't want to do the pieces behind the doors until the b pillar is complete.
