Its items like this where TMC KNOWS they can push the envelope on profit margin :frown::rofl:

You forget. TMC is in business to make money, not to please anyone.

I'm glad I can contribute to someone's profits 👍

A sale without a profit is a gift. ;)

Got some work in today....should have taken the day off but it was super quiet...so a good day to get a few things done.

Cut these 2x2x1/2 spacers for the bed....we'll have to lengthen the T-bolts that secure the bed(4 of them)..might work on those tomorrow so we're all set when the time comes to install.

We got the tunnel installed and the shift boots....forgot to grab pics.....we ended up using outserts to secure the cover to the trans tunnel. Nice setup. Shifter boot setup fit nicely.

This was what I was worried about.....how the floor cover would fit now with the H151....this floor mat is for the R151. I'm fixated on this flooring for some reason. Probably a million ways to do a floor in this truck but I am obsessed with keeping it vinyl. The more I think about things, that trunk liner type material I used for the rear cab wall probably would be pretty cool on the floors...along with some really nice mats. Too late now...I'm committed.

This is how it fits...not so good!

This is a great thread. I usually hit new post in the top left corner and read the post. This thread popped up over a week ago. I left it up in a separate window and read all 44 pages and am finally up to date. This is a great read and a wealth of knowledge and some nice work.

Glad you're enjoying it and thanks for the kind words....glad to contribute a tiny bit to the amazing community on here.

Yesterday we were able to pop the trans out....decided on a part time kit and changing out the low range gear set which we will do with the trans/transfer out.

While it's out we need to coat the underside of the new shifter plate in the tunnel....might be the last time we see that area for a bit or should I say I hope this is the last time we see that area for a bit.

We were able to install these pieces while the trans was out since the motor is easier to lift without a trans......by chance I found them when I was going over things to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything. Glad I had a look again at the diagram!

Trans tunnel screwed down. Went with nut serts....still hemming and hawing over how to seal it up and when to seal it up. Would be nice to coat the underside while the trans is out

Modified the structure for the driver's side cup holder. Couple tweaks and some nutserts did the trick. In the later model trucks, this bracket covers up the airbag brain/rollover sensor. I wanted to use it to cover up some of the center console area since I'm using the later model floor covering with all the cutouts for this stuff.

Cup holder bolted down onto the metal structure. Super sturdy.

Tested out the passenger seat because I want to run this cool center console cubby thing I found. Seat in...

Had to make a slight mod to the inboard foot to work with the cubby console thing

And finally....all bolted up. I found a source for these cool little consoles if anyone is interested. I have one in my 73(H55 trans)....works with it just fine. This is a H151 and it fits really well. Won't work with an R151 however.

Nice and simple piece and really adds some useful storage. Thinking about bringing in 5 or 10 of them next go around.

Needed to do something NOT interior related.....we decided to mess around with this HUGE Safari ARMAX snorkel that I got thru Rob at Odd Iron Off Road. This thing is ridiculous. It's meant for a VDJ7X with the big V8 turbo but I'll make it fit my setup...it will be fully sealed up to the OEM air cleaner assembly

Just HUGE

Super complete kit with detailed and very accurate instructions

Template in position....easy to see how much larger the snorkel's feed into the air box is.

Cut, smoothed and paint applied to all surfaces

Initial install to check a few things.

When I first held this thing up against the OEM one, I kind of thought I made a big mistake....it looks awkwardly big. But once it was in position, it looks absolutely brutal. Makes that little factory one seem like a toy.

Kind of cool how it lines up with the flare....would certainly look odd without a flare on the truck.

This is where it will get a little tricky....the bottom end of the snorkel isn't really in an ideal position. Kind of angles down. We're going to run a 4.25" to 4" silicone coupler to a 4" 90 degree mandrel bend that we'll shape and transition into our air cleaner.

Wanted to start working on this so when the 90 degree elbow and coupler comes in we can start making it all work together. Seems like every build we do involves a rework of the air cleaner.
