does anyone have an old copy of the instructions? I want to know how this was connecting the top to he extruded aluminum. Did you just align the nut in the slot and move the bard around until you found the hole in the nut? Was there something I am missing about that process?

Bolt through the hole in board, loosely connect the nut, align with channel and slide 8020 aluminum down until in correct position then tighten fully.

I don’t have a copy of the instructions…but I do have a photo of this step…if I understand you correctly…

Ah, that makes sense. I am building my own modified version of this system and have never seen one while being assembled so was making a lot of assumptions on the structure. Thanks for the pictures and info!

I have a bunch of leftover spare hardware and the tie down straps from my KISS drawers from my 80 series if anyone wants them.

Slide in those DMs if you want some pics of what I have available.

Thanks! I'm not a wood worker so that was interesting. They are bevelled as well so that they follow the shape of the wheel well.

My design was driven to be a lower platform to match the bottom seat level (the height worked for the dogs so well). I didn't need the taller height and hated that anything in the back was so high as it blocked the rear window. With this platform now, suitcases or hockey/lacrosse bags all ride just at the bottom of the window and also I have 7" of usable space under the cargo area which fits sticks, tools, straps and whatever else.

If anyone wants to know more, I can create a new thread and link it here on the process and parts.

I also used some pet liners under and on top of the platform to protect the entire back of the truck, both on top and under the platform.

We are on a shakedown trip right now and will have more pics to share when I get back home.

I would love to see a writeup if you find time to do one!

Where are you guys getting the extruded aluminum from? And what size is it? @BreckenridgeCruiser & @Bullgump those look fantastic! Any chance for a write-up?
8020.net has everything but is expensive. Tnutz.com has better pricing and I didn't have any issues with shipping and such. The only piece tnutz didn't have was the flat used to anchor system to truck using existing screw holes (pic). I used the 10 series which is a 1"x1" square. Wood is .5" birch with overall height of 12" which means it just about lays flat with seat back when that seat is folded down. I removed 60 section for additional storage and sleeping platform.

I’m on the road, and noticed that some of the T nuts on my old KISS drawers have vibrated loose, and are currently MIA. Any hints on the size and/or source?

I belive 1/4-20 is thread size and box store should have them in their specialty nut section.

I'm guessing it's something like this: McMaster-Carr - https://www.mcmaster.com/47065T003/

I've never seen those in a big box store. Not exactly a common thing outside of automation and industrial fab. McMaster ships overnight to most major cities.

Yep, but I've used a 1/4-20 threaded nut in a pinch or have run out of those type of channel nuts.

Question: how are people securing their drawers to the truck to keep it from moving around? Is your method strong enough to hold them in place during a rollover? Need to lock mine down as the last part of my process.

I’ve used these on left and right corners tie into the cargo loops in the floor near the back door.
