How do you get to the fridge?

Or is that photo facing the tail gate?

EDIT:

OK I got it now. :)

Rear cargo lights doing their thing.....

One of the cooler features of this setup is that the table is kept up and out of the way on the underside of the canopy....a couple of little drop down fasteners allow it to have enough room to slide out on they felt channels.....great way to get it up and out of the way. Nice table too.

Thinking of going with a Sno Master fridge/freezer combo next....they do a side by side that is 18x18x32 or something....would fit really nicely.

Out of the shop and into the big scary world....first stop would be NC for the 2018 Overland Expo East show....what better place to break in a rig like this.

This was a cool truck already and then you did this. Coolness just went up another notch.

Great work.

Coolness went up AND I can sleep on the roof. Can't get better than that.

Now, about those bumpers.....:grinpimp:

Yeah....the bumpers are seriously lacking. This truck will go back to it's former glory as soon as the new truck is done.....that will have proper bumpers.

Trying to keep this thread updated.....in Nov. we did Expo East....pretty cool event if you like crappy, cold rainy weather and about 6-8" of mud everywhere....what an experience. I'd do it again in a second! Fun times.

Fairly sure the dog preferred warm FL sun and a couch vs. this.....

After Expo....I went up to VA to visit my family and do a little camping in the George Washington Forest outside of Harrisonburg VA....I went to college there and spent a lot of time in the woods(probably more than in school)...was fun to revisit some of the old romping grounds. 16 degree nighttime temps were not fun however. As a Floridian of 20 years...I am not prepared for that kind of cold. 50 degrees is cold for us.

About 20 degrees when this pic was taken. Hard to believe that I used to camp in this site in the early 90s. Still looked the same.

Ran up a pretty fun trail from Switzers damn where I camped up to Reddish Knob...

That little tiny peak in the middle of this picture(kind of hard to see....just to the right of center) is the southern end of Massanutten Mountain....a ridge that runs down the Shenandoah Valley. Massanutten Ski Resort is at that southern end......worked there for many years as a snowboard instructor. Did more snowboarding than college. Seems pretty much more of everything BUT college was my life in those years. If only I had this truck back when I was a college kid....I would have been long gone I think. Fortunately my 40 got me into just enough trouble when I had it running and it usually didn't run well enough that I could go too far away. I've still got the 40....

Before we headed out to Daytona.......I had the guys install this really cool overhead console. VERY slick setup with not only some nice storage space but some really nice LED touch lights. FedEx dropped off at 1.....installed by 2....out the door at 3!

Not much work to pull out the interior stuff on the 79. Had to run a power and ground for the touch lights...not a big deal....we grabbed power off the wire for my dome light which ran up the A pillar. Easy.

Had a seriously cool camp site at Daytona for the Rolex 24....AND had @ca18sean and his Troopy for a camp mate....doesn't get better than that. Hope we get to do it again next year.....

What an awesome build thread. And what a cool truck. Kudos.
Do we have any 4 door 79 builds on here? Or maybe some tub ideas other than campers? Any advice would be appreciated.
Once again...really well done.

Nope...no 4 door builds on here yet for me but who knows what's in store :)

Glad you enjoyed the build.....haven't kept up with this one for a while. Been playing with other things.
