Then had this little bastard sitting at the bottom of my steps waiting on me to step on him. He's dead now.

That little bastard and his like are why I pay particular attention to whether overnight temps remain consistently below 50*F.

Being colorblind, I had to blow up your pic and get Dianna to point him out.

I always worry about Chester and I getting bit, while out hiking... still have to remain vigilant, but have been fortunate this far.

I don't know how I've missed your thread... you're doing great work, Justin!!

Thanks Danny! I hope that one day I can get as much use out of mine as you do yours!

I have a special place in my heart for copperheads. I had one put me out of commission 4-years ago while working in the back yard. 3-weeks of being forced to keep my foot propped up on the couch. The swelling was pretty bad all the way up to the knee, but luckily it stopped there.

I lived on a farm, outside of Cave City, in '61-'62... I saw copperheads, corals, cotton mouths, rattlesnakes, quarter whip snakes and numerous other non-venomous varieties... The Ozarks are gorgeous, but they hold a lot of hidden dangers.

Copperheads loved to wait for us to pick wild blackberries... I've never been bitten! But I've heard how painful it is.

I'm glad you fully recovered!!

Be careful out there!!

Not much progress as the past week was vacation with the family at the beach.

After the 13 hour drive back yesterday I needed a some time for yard work and cruiser time.

Decided to swap in the new Bilstein 5100s that I picked up the week.

Before I could do that though I needed to replace both of my "temporary" spring pins with new ones that @lcwizard sent me.

Hopefully the last time I have to remove the rear axle for a long time. Decided to cut all of the ubolts to length to button up the last bit.

Finished up the wheel well metal work and spent a ton of time cleaning all of the metal dust that covered everything. Hoping to get the MT cage in tomorrow.

The pile of rust that I ended up cutting out.

When you REALLY want to install your roll cage and all of your friends are busy...

Step 1: Pick the rear end up and set it on the tailgate. Then slide it into the bed and stand it up.

Step 2: Back the 40 up to the truck.

Step 3: Slide the rear of the cage onto the back of the tub.

Step 4: Slowly walk the cage down while walking back at the same time. Sitting it on the dash wasn’t intentional, but offered a much needed break.

Step 5: pick the entire thing up at once and set into place.

Step 6: Drink lots of :beer::beer: because your body will be done for the day.

Good thing I decided to mock this thing up before taking it to have it powder coated.

I’ll have heat both seatbelt shoulder tabs and bend them out to allow for the seat belt bolt clearance. I could barely get a nut on the passenger side and couldn’t even get close with the drivers side.

I guess if that’s my biggest gripe about the cage then I’m doing good.

Took the cruiser for a drive to try to adjust the proportioning valve. I was unsuccessful in getting the rears to lock up.

Also some poser flex shots to see how much rubbing there would be and if I moved the rear portion of the wheel wells back far enough.

Who says 35s won’t stuff into the well. This is with the drivers side rear floating in the air.

Dropped off the rollcage this week to have it powder coated.

Also started gathering parts for the next project. Decided to sell the half doors I had and took a FJ80 power steering gear box as a partial trade which in turn cost me a bunch of $$$.

Spoke with the guys at IPOR and picked up everything I need to convert from my mini-truck power steering to the FJ80 steering box.

- Sleeved frame plate
- Bud Built 1 1/4” DOM tie rod and drag link
- Borgeson collapsible shaft and u-joints
- FJ80 straight pitman arm
- FJ80 Tie rod end

Plan is to run all FJ60 TREs except at the pitman arm the plan is to run an 80 TRE.

Given its 15 degrees outside today I decided to do some mocking up at my desk.

Hit a bit of a snag. The drag link end that attached at the tie rod is RH threaded and the drag link I received is tapped for LH threaded (I ran the long FJ60 TRE just to make sure it was LH threaded. I’ll have to get another one on the way.

But let me say man these Bud Built steering arms are BEEFY. I'll snap a side by side once I pull the old stuff off.
