Cleaning out the basement, came across these old photos. I'm guessing 2001-ish, that's my 28 year-old son in the front seat.

One of the Northwest Cruisers of Idaho runs, @ginericLC 's 60 next to me. Kevin L on the other side, Curtis in Mr. Yuk next to Eric, not sure about the red 40s, or the pick-up, the Emmett crew Eric?

Scotty Knapp in the first red one and Mike Taylor in the second red one. I think that pickup might be the little diesel Creig owned and sold to Jay.

I think I ended up with 6 55 parts trucks at one time. I was trying to assemble enough parts to build one. I bought one just to get the mirrors as the mirrors alone were too expensive to buy. I ended up selling the whole lot when I lost feeling in my right hand. It was going to be too much welding and grinding. Sort of the final straw was when I set down the tub onto the frame that I thought was good (the best I had) and the whole floor collapsed. I realized that there was no possible way I could do that much body work. For me owning a running 55 is my Eleanor. It will probably never happen as I don't have funds for an expensive play Cruiser and any one that I can afford to fix is beyond my budget in repairs and body work skill level (which is less than zero).

Took my passenger's rear door panel off as the door wouldn't latch...amazed at the condition of the plastic and panel, I don't think it's ever been off. No idea what was wrong with the latch, it just started working again. I took the opportunity to lube and clean everything. Pulled the window regulator out as well because it was really hard to roll all the way down. Regulator is fine, the window runs are/were tight so I lubed them with silicone spray.

I was going to replace the 'baily channel' aka window run with a new one but couldn't figure out how to get the window out or even if I needed to pull the window. I didn't want to get into it any deeper than I already had, so I just buttoned it back up with the old rubber installed.

Getting the rear window all the way out is a chore.
Unless I am mistaken, it involves unscrewing the metal divider between the fixed glass and the pane that mounts to the regulator.
If you mess with the fixed glass then you might need a new gasket. If you need that, then you need a trained octopus b/c you will need about eight arms to get everything back together.

If you drop the glass all the way down in the door can you replace the window run?

I'm pretty sure that's how I did my 75's runs. I was going to give it a shot, but didn't want to get into a spot where I couldn't finish and have to leave it apart for days/weeks as I've got other projects I need to be working on...like a bathroom remodel.

Ugh. I am glad I am not the only one trying to balance house work vs. time on the Cruisers.
