Definitely a Plymouth, not sure on the year.

This upholstery shop is near my house and he always has a cool vehicle (or two) there getting re-done. Bummer is, the guy is retiring this year and the shop (an old Phillips 76 Station) is getting torn down to put in another lo-rise hi-density building in the ever expanding downtown area.

Planners just dont get it, you cant replace that building-would make a great little restaurant, cigar shop, beer shop,...............................................
I’m very much in agreement, same thing around here...nothing gets saved :bang:

Got 3/4 of my seats last week. My front seat bottom frame is tweaked and ALL of the springs on the driver's side are broken, so I had to find a replacement. Found one locally that is in much better shape. It had 4 broken springs, but the upholstery shop said they can make it work. They turned out pretty good I think.

In the mean time, I decided to clean up the floor boards a bit and apply some PRO15 over the rusty spots. The floor is pretty clean, the worst spots are the front corners of the footwell. need to cut those out and replace, but that project will have to wait.

Got my wife to help scuff the floor prior to painting with 'Wimbledon White' I was just going to leave the primer-look, but figured I had a left-over can of this from the inner fender clean-up, I might as well use it. Of course it wasn't enough and I ended up going to the parts store and buying another can...twice.

Masked and painted.

Hope to get a call that my front seat bottom is done today and get this back together.

Put the floor mats back in
IMG_20210823_190645090_HDR.jpg

and installed the seats last night. Took it for a quick spin around the block, had to adjust the mirrors 'cause I'm sitting about 6-inches higher.

Took a little fiddling to get the rear seat to latch and there's a bigger gap between the seat bottom and seat back, hope it will settle a little with use, as it is, the female seat belt receptacles easily fall in the crack. For now, I'll just leave them clipped together.

I need to find some plastic covers for the seatbelts. The passengers sides have been shut in the doors too many times over the years and are broken/missing. Crappy photo, but you can see the missing cover and the gap in the seat. You can also see the two-tone of material I chose to try and replicate the factory pattern of the upholstery.

Maybe I'll try 3D printing one, not sure how well I can draw up one in CAD, it'd be nice to have a 3D scanner.

I had this stashed away in my basement for several years (Cdan sourced it for me when he was still at American Toyota) I thought I'd save it until I was ready to paint my 55, alas I don't think that day is ever coming, so I pulled it out and put it in this weekend.

Old one had been cracked since I bought it 25 years ago, the vertical crack was new this last year though.

I'd also purchased a $OR gasket as the OEM gasket were NLA. Luckily was able to find it.

Removed the old windshield Thursday night. You can see a big chunk of paint flaked off in the process. The frame is in remarkably good condition, I wish my Troopy was this good. Alas the troopy is going to require some new metal. This only took some wire brushing, and a coat of POR15 in a couple spots.

Painted the few rusty spots with POR15, scuffed and painted those spots with the Wimbledon white...again, then prepped the window for install.

Set it out in the sun today, let it get nice and pliable and a friend stopped by and gave me a hand. We had to 're-set' the rope twice as we weren't getting the seal to seat in one corner, then we switched places and I applied pressure while he roped it in and were able to get in in on the third attempt.

Wish I had Toyota rubber, but the SOR seal went in alright. I noticed when I did the windows in my 45 cab last year, the OEM rubber was much easier to work with than the aftermarket.

Looking good! Where did you find the Wimbledon white paint? Did you spray it or use rattle cans?

Oriellys or Autozone, can't remember which. It comes in a rattle can, a bit spendy at $13/can and it's a small can, but good for little touch-up stuff.
