Christo,

My hats of to you guys what a nice clean job.
One thing that would make this even more attractive is better mileage as well as the given power. Do you have any figures on MPG?

I don't have enough miles on mine to give a true mileage since everyone romps on it when they get in. The customer reported 15+ mpg on the way back home in terrible weather and really bad winds.

It is not a kit yet, but getting closer with finals on all the parts needed.

Bump for an update on the kit. My old 1FZE and tranny are getting tired...... this swap could make for a fun winter project!

Is there any alternate transmission or overdrive setup that could be used to increase the highway mpg??

Swapping a newer gas motor into an older car is not a problem in California. That shouldn't stop any Californians considering this from Slee.

It's the diesel thing that's a problem, even that can be done, just more difficult.

Huh?!

Gasser conversions have to go thru the ref and pass smog. Diesel swaps go to the DMV. They take a quick look at it and 2-6 weeks later you get a "diesel" title in the mail. No testing, nobody Even asks you to start the vehicle.

Ask me how I know........

Stay focused....I'm enjoying your LV build.....;p

Christo - Did you line yours up against Marco's Vortec yet? We need some 1/4 mile Cruiser action.....

great job man , looks and sounds awesome .... saw this truck and swap in a magazine then came here and looked it up for more details .. .. magazine said it had a geardriven case , but it looks like you used a chain case ..
ive done a few 1uz swaps into first gen 4runners using both early gear and later chain cases but was really surprised when i saw the fj40(my recently bought first) had the diffs offset , so im looking around to see what others have done about that , id really like to keep the offset diffs and wont be able to use what ive used before to achieve that ..... any way thanks for posting alot of what youve learned on this swap on here for others to see. ..

Both 100 and 80 series transfer cases are gear driven. Depending on how the swap is done, either can be used.

Sad to report, no video. Truck is now with a new owner. Someone just had to have it. Also needed the $'s for the next project truck. Owner is still happy, and last we talked he wanted another one.

Are you guys making a swap kit???

What's the story with this? Not that my wife would ever let me allocate the funds to do this I'm still interested. How's that kit coming along.

We are not selling a kit. We are do have belly plates and fan shrouds available. Working on the motor mounts. That is about it. We will never have a complete swap kit. We do the swaps in house and we made the parts so that we can have a faster turn around. So we made extra and they are available.

I want to add that unless slee is willing to give out the dimensions as far as engine placement, the fan shroud would only do good if they end up offering mounts. The vvti are different than non vvti block mounts, at least from what I have found. And my placement was different than the others that did this swap. I actually want to do another one of these. I can't drive mine enough...if I had more money for fuel and tires, it would be the only rig I would drive from my fleet
