mines a husky, and its still holding up just fine.

Great to know. I had seen other posts from folks indicating that they got about two years or so, which I'll be pleased if I get as well. Thanks for starting this thread as well. It came in real handy. I'm probably going to have to modify the plug that I put in to replace the little valve with a slightly different rubber washer or grommet to make sure it's tight.

Too much heat? I haven't done this yet. Thinking I can extend the hose a few feet away from the top of the engine?

This is the one I bought but haven't had the time to install yet.

$17 delivered, site window/tube, metal, drain valve, install hose included and a easy mount. You can also order in different colors from same seller.

Side shot shown but you get the idea. Brass inlet and outlet go to the top. Lol.

Yeah, that would be nice. I may have mounted this one too close to the manifold. I'll try if for a bit and see. If it turns out that it's too close, I'll get another hose and extend it out. I tried to duplicate, at least visually, what 93yotasr5 did. I think his was mounted a bit farther out from the manifold. Of course, inside the engine bay, a few inches in either direction may not make that much of a difference. Guess I'll see.

I did the same today, I cant seem to find a glass bowl oil separator. That would last a while

awesome man. glad it was helpful.

No, once the oil saturates the filter and fills the housing up to the hoses, it will be sucking down raw oil into the intake :o

I guess by then I could change it out..??

You want a separator with a top feed and a low reservoir.

That filter will fill and clog faster than you think :o

Also, the straight line design will only make things worse when wheeling on inclines

I went with a large, deep reservoir not only so I don't have to mess with it often, but because I'm usually driving up walls and don't want any oil getting sucked in :meh:

Yea, ok.

BullElk. Use the filter for a diff breather before it gets oil filled. But all and all def. take that thing off there asap.

What about this?

The filter feels like a porous stone of some kind. Prolly not but feels like it. I am concerned about the entire housing withstanding the heat. Whatcha think?
