Disassembly continues.

I was relieved to see no rust under the rear sliding windows but there was a decent amount of water lurking under there from the car wash a week ago.

Doing this has got me thinking about gullwings, not gonna lie

Doors are coming apart nicely. Glass is out, mirror is off. Butyl is nasty

The door cards need a little TLC. They're in nice shape overall but there's some water damage and cracked MDF or whatever the backing is made out of. And that's got me thinking about Orikawa door cards... and bigger speakers... $$$
Gull wings are such a great upgrade... I only have one on the left side, but I really want to add the second one. So much utility...

I wonder if your water leak is the mounting holes for the belt rail trim (the trim below the rear quarter window) rather than the body vent. In my experience, these are more likely to allow water in than a faulty vent.

I think the body color flares and mirrors look cleanest.

Agreed, I'm not sure where the water was coming in now that I think about it. My belt moulding was only 6 months old so I assumed it wasn't leaking, but maybe I need to add a little sealant.

I like the gull wing option as well. Maybe when someone takes a base ball bat to my rear windows…..great opportunity!
