Mine was 2.64 tonnes last time I had it over a weighbridge. Maximum legal weight in Australia for an 80 is 2.96 tonnes.

7,300 lbs on the San Jose recycling center scale - ooof!! 425 lbs of that just in on-board fluids - although I do have lots of fresh water on tap and around 520 mile range.

I dream of a lighter truck but love the function of all my goodies when camping with the family out in the boonies and can't really think of anything I'd want to ditch. Maybe tie huge helium balloons to my rig. Haha

6000 lbs on the dot today at the scrap yard.
3/4 full main tank
sub tank empty
M12000
TJM aluminum bumper
dual batt
sliders
BIOR skid plate
Gamaviti roof rack
4x4 lab rear with ladder and tire carrier
13 gal oem sub tank
high lift jack
recovery gear

This combo weighed 13,200
2600 front
3600 rear
7000 trailer

Truck is stock except 285/75R17s on factory tundra wheels, no front bumper or 3rd row. Was about 2/3 tank with 2 people in front and maybe 150lbs of gear in the second row cargo area had a 34" matching spare and factory spare still underneath.

With the trailer removed and a smidge less fuel he was 2800 front and 2900 rear on the same scale.

I had put the 80 on the trailer backwards in an attempt to put less tongue weight on the LX, maybe that didn't work out how I wanted it to...

Loaded on the way to camp, 6827 total. 😬 that’s heavy.

Seems like it worked to me. 700lbs of tongue weight for a 7000lb load is 10%, a smidge more would be good but probably fine.

Yes, the tongue weight was good percentage wise but it was enough to pull some weight off the front axle. Even so despite being incredibly slow and thirsty it drove alright.

Not a lightweight, but I drive it like its the last day on the road and will take it anywhere anytime!
7540# today. Probably a few hundreds pounds over my “everyday” weight and a few hundred pounds less than my “loaded” weight.

Lol yeah and 23 gallons of gasoline.

Yes, haha. I’m gonna try the 3 month (3 trip) rule next trip and see how I fare. Sad thing with that rule is an 80 rarely gets stuck or busted so I’d be removing a lot of gear!

Yes I limit repair items and tools to 100lbs and prefer to do any wrenching on my 80 at home. It makes traveling much more enjoyable.

You just don't ask that. LOL
