Son had eventful weekend, came home from school in Gunnison with his Girlfriend of 10 months. Since her parents were gone they stayed with us all weekend. On way out of town they go to house to feed her cat and she breaks up with him. Little shell shocked he stays another night and leaves yesterday morning in my 2003 F350 since his Tacoma acting up. Hits deer south of Bueno Vista so new hood, grill and light in order now.

So the son has flipped his 2001 Tacoma, destroying it when he was 16, backed into light pole at firework stand in my nice GMC 2500 and now scarred my 2003 ford. Only thing that matters is no one hurt. I know he was already bummed so all I said "it's only metal" and move on.
Wow! That is one sh*tty weekend! Sorry to hear about all of that. Glad to hear he’s okay and ready to have some good things come his way now.

After no less then 60-70 hours of studying for my family medicine boards, I hopefully put them behind me yesterday. 300 questions over anything they want to put in there and damn it was hard, This studying crap after 20 years practicing for a tired 52 year old sucks, I am definitely not a scholar any longer and look forward to reading the comic sin the paper as my only reading.

Hopefully in 7 days I will have the notification that i passed, never again will I have to take it again. The Sow has suffered some neglect over the last month as I prepared but today I get back on track!!
Good luck on your test. Passing the Land Surveyor's test was probably the hardest thing I had to do, and California is one of the toughest in the union. Even though I know I am a better surveyor now then when I passed, I probably would fail the test if I sat for it today.

That's what sucks, We have to do this every 10 years, due to Covid I was allowed 11 years. 20 years ago it was 2 days, 8 hours/day in large area with hundreds of other ranging from new grads like I was to old providers. I felt sorry for those old timers thinking how hard the test had to be. Now although not an "old timer" in my own mind I was definitely at a disadvantage (No ones fault but my own). Test is now a 1 day computer test. Everything computers, no bubble sheets. I listened to 25-30 hours worth of CD's traveling to back and forth to work for last 2 months, repeated listening to them with some active note taking at my desk the last 2 -3 weeks. I definitely learned some things and I will be better provider but having to learn prenatal care again when I haven't delivered a kid in 20 years is little difficult.

The test is in the rear view mirror. I am off to the shop now for some PIG time!

Taken off the interweb from 2021 medical board exam:

"Delivery of a child is like:
a.) a walk in the park
b.) catching a breaking ball without the catcher's gear
c.) pushing a pilot bushing out of crankshaft with white bread and a bolt
d.) both c. and d."
Answer: d.)
Never could hit or catch a curve ball!

Wife comes into the house in early 1991.

Wife: “Honey? The fence lept out at me and got the passenger door on the (1990) ‘Vette.”

Me: “you ok?”

Wife: “yes but your car!”

Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/ “It’s just paint and fiberglass. We can fix that.”

Take the car back to the dealer. Explain the accident to the service writer.

SW: “did you beat her?”

Walked over to his manager, explained what his employee had just said and made damn sure he would never have the opportunity to interact with her.

She backed it over the curb a couple times as well.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(@PabloCruise should probably not repeat this story)

"Well yea, but not because of the car, but because dinner was cold."

Just kidding, obviously.
How times have changes eh, been years since I heard one of those old jokes.

A former employee accused me of being a "new-aged sensitive guy" because I didn't rule my house with an iron fist and that I actually listened to my wife when she would call me. Times have truly changed, but not enough I am sure.

Bill Burr is one of my favorites.

I’m entering a new decade on the 16th. My kids surprised me yesterday with a 70th birthday celebration. Totally caught me off guard.

Got great news today. Finally received our CDC import permits for the two English Cockers. They go home next week and we follow in early December. We decided to go ahead and get them home before we get into moving mode next spring.
