Whers ya 55 Jenn 🤔🧐😳😉
Ha! I just realized this was the 55 section, I was just responding back to a post I was tagged in. But I would love to have a 55, I’ve never even seen one out here in Hawaii, but would be a great addition to my collection.

Everyone needs a 55!

Yes, you can definitely own and enjoy Land Cruisers here in Hawaii…even rust free LCs, as 3 of my 5 are testament of.

And as far as it being expensive, I lived in the Bay Area of CA for a while and have some family that I visit there. It seems just as expensive there, and even more expensive if you’re talking about gas or real estate by the ocean (yes, gas is cheaper on an island in the middle of the ocean than in CA). I suppose “expensive” and/or cost of living is relative to where you are coming from. Anyways, here’s a few examples of why Hawaii cost of living taxes could be considered higher than other places.

I am from the Bay Area and live in San Diego now. We visit Hawaii almost every year. In regards to cost of living, can confirm!

To answer the thread question, I honestly am doing really well. Working for myself has been amazing in so many ways. I do work more but it's on my terms and I get plenty of time with my family. Soon I will get some time to work on the pig.

I just bought a work truck because the Explorer Sport was great for weekend jobs but not ideal for the real stuff. First ever new car. I always bought used. It is probably a polarizing choice between Ford vs Chevy, EV vs ICE. IDC this is the sweetest thing I've ever driven and it makes me smile like do when I am in the pig. That says a lot!

Guess what color it is.

It looks like you went electric?

Indeed. I was anti EV for a while but started doing the math on operating costs with mostly charging at home. I don't tow anything. I live in the middle of San Diego County and not 1 inch of the County is more than half battery on a round trip. The short bed is perfect for my operation. The huge cab makes it an awesome family truckster. Drives like a cadillac and accelerates like a Lambo. Plus I can depreciate 80% of the cost this year. Helps my taxes and almost makes the truck free to have...almost.

Work that system!!!

Drove from the south side of Kauai to the north side of the island to see the big surf. Crazy waves. Saw a total of 4 older 100 series Land Cruisers up and back. More that I would have guessed.

12:46am. Well, it is officially Christmas Eve here on the east coast. Just took a shower and putting a TON of tools back in the pole barn. The room is livable , tv watchable and cozy warm. The heat was a PITA and it was 7*F this morning and 11*F yesterday. I had been using a 240V electric heater that really heated the entire space nicely by the hot water base board was tested EXCEPT for the zone pump. It was bad…new but bad. Took me minutes to replace it and purge the air out…what a great feeling that it works

I grabbed our artificial tree, pre-lit and tossed it up in the corner. This is the first artificial tree we ever had. In Vermont we just went in the back yard and found one to bring inside the house. My wife will add the ornaments and we’re good to go. The fireplace I will finish next week but we could hang out, at start enjoying the space.. even the dog just goes in to lay on the moving blanket.

Had to move my 40 to get some Christmas stuff up in the trusses. Had not been run in 9-10 weeks. Started up instantly, stalled after 5 seconds, restarted and it was perfect. I had let in run about 20 minutes up to operating temps and then put it back in the garage.. I wish everyone a fun happy holiday.
