Yeah, took a quick look in the dark... Oh, man I've got some work to do! It's not running, a blown tire and lots of bad hoses, wiring and stuff.
Has been sitting for at least ten years!
I love the challenge...

Will take some photos tomorrow, when I can get some light on it, and make a short list to get it running.

^ Ya what they said!

Ever since I saw this unimog in Colorado I've wanted one:

Probably will never happen though haha.

is it an MAZ Antonov carrier?

Okay, so it's a cheap ass Unimog (not sure on year yet, 70's something i think.
The good: 4 cyl OM617 diesel, all the crawler gears, hydraulics, air, front and rear PTO, and Portals!
It also has a 6cyl 300hp scania truck engine bolted on the bed, runs the Unimog "schnefraashe" through a homemade setup that runs a driveshaft under the rig.

The bad: It looks like this!

Not for the average guy... It's possible to register it as a tractor.
Short-list:
Clutch slave cyl
Brake main cyl
Hose out interior.
Put in oil and water
Gear fluids
Batteries, then fire up.
Get air and hydraulics working.
Patch/get new rear pass tire.

Longer list:
Do the same as above for the scania engine, get it running.
Get air-operated clutch (valve on tranny shifter) to work.
Hydraulics and power to the front mount shnefrashe.
If engine/equipment is not working, replace with smaller unit.

Long term:
Remove scania engine, run plow/thrower on pto and hydraulics.
Fix three-way tilt on bed.
Mount a hiab crane to rear.

Even longer term:
Slaughter and use portals for the fun project.

Moving pictures with sound.
As soon as it's running, i'll take a vid. will give it a shot this weekend.

Short list is getting longer as i type this!

(some may think i'm ill, but this is really a dream, and i'll surely put it to good use.
Already have buyers lined up, if/when i change my mind ;)

Very cool!

My neighbor had a late 60's Unimog for plowing the road. It's a beast for sure.

I keep hoping for a BIG snow so that we can see whose plow truck can push more snow, you know--for science.

Cool project! A crane on a truck is ridiculously handy, as it means you can pull engines and things without needing to be on a hard concrete surface, which makes you far less dependent on shop space.

Yeah, a crane is handy, especially in my line of work, building log houses on wierd places.
But as you can see, I can't easily mount the crane on the back and keep the Scania engine.
And I want it on the back, because the truck itself is only 2.4 tonnes. If I make a .5t weight on the front of the mog, I can utilize the crane pretty far out back.

I bought our crane to build our house (log). One of these days I'll even get the house built, but until then I'll enjoy being able to lift stuff so easily that it's scary!

Very true. With a truck that small, will you need outriggers? Our crane is on a 13t truck, and without the outriggers even the 100 lbs ball can shake the truck pretty good if I don't put the outriggers down.
