Pulled into my danish part store, smelling fresh coffee and bread, along with the oil and money smell
Team Bertelsen is the one place i order most of my stuff, and decided it was time to get some upgrades.
The ARB fridge, a 24v HO arb compressor with hose kit, tire repair kit, clutch slave, bearings, knuckle kit, brake parts, rear shocks and tons of other small odds and ends found it's way into the cruiser. The service was great, and i got a pretty good deal on the parts. They carry arb, ome, terrain tamer and toy parts. what a blast!
It was time to head back to Tønsberg, after one week on the road. We had a ferry to catch, and the extra weight was noticable, but no problem for the cruiser.
The reason we headed back, we were going to hadbrake's brothers wedding. Of course, the rig served as a ride to the mansion.
Next day, after the wedding, i had a cruiser itch... and had to go for a test run off pavement. Nothing extreme, just to get a feel for the truck, if something needed attention.
Went really well, no big rattles except rear hatch and rear shocks were bad.
And the wiper linkage pooped out again.
Started the next day on our trip north, back home, and stopped by a couple old friends who also twist their knuckles on cruisers. I got some needed parts, driveshafts, interior parts and a 61 steering wheel.
Niiiice to finally get rid of that old 1st gen hilux wheel.
I also put in a huge 30amp 24-12v converter, a fuse box for more 24v accessories, hardwired a outlet in the quarter for the fridge, wired and mounted the the alpine DAB deck, and a couple of kicker speakers in the front to get some tunes for the week long ride home
Here is my buddy Eivind posing in front of his two sixtys, the 42 and the old mk1 hilux.
Had a great time there!
(as you can see, all the engines were inspected...)
And this is me making sure the new steering wheel works on the norwegian twisty roads:
