Posting this for two reasons:
People can see the gnarly damage
If anyone has suggestions for good shops in the area (will repost in Philadelphia section)

I guess a tractor trailer hit my cruiser first then continued to hit the 11 cars parked ahead of me. Pretty ridiculous damage! The flare is totally gone.

Check out the photos here.

Any suggestions on what to do here on out from those of you who have been here before? :steer:

And what's behind the flare doesn't look too good either.

Yeah, that CDL drug-testing program is working sooo well at keeping the incompetents from behind the wheel of semis. This wasn't near the building collapse, was it?

I'll tell you also it doesn't look good at all. Maybe the best way to look at it is this is a good time to upgrade to a FZJ80?

Any info for leads on who did that?

Police said they got the information on the trailer. I talked to a guy who works across from the scene, he said it was probably one of the many trucks who wrongly go up that road from a factory nearby in Philly. Police report is still under investigation.

I was thinking UZJ-100? Get some luxury finally. Been doing more driving on pavement these days, anyway. Wouldn't mind a FZJ for a good price though! Start fresh.

Hire counsel.

That absolutely sucks dude and I wish the best for you. Definitely not a fan of the suit happy solution but sometimes its a necessary evil to make sure you arent taken advantage of. Im guessing there was not witness or responsible party with title? That really stinks and not sure how best for you to proceed as it may come down to your own insurance taking care of you. Stay tuned and actively participate if the reponsible party is found.... im guessing there would be one giant claim on their part in which they will try and weasle out of every liability and responsibility they can. Hopefully you can get some good info from our more judicially educated members. there are a few lawyers on here that have offered advice to folks in tough situations like this.

Agree it does not look like something i would pursue fixing. But if they find the idiot responsible make sure he pays the hefty fine for the environmental contamination from ripping apart your fuel system.

r:

That is the most optimistic description of the damage to your truck I could fathom anyone coming up with. Half the side of the car has been ripped off and you notice the totaled flair? I guess a man's love for his cruiser does not allow him to see her flaws.

PS that sucks, sorry for you loss:frown:

I would say the flare is gone......along with your whole quarter panel. Damn. Sorry bout that.

A big can opener nailed that rig... I hope it turns out well in the end.

I'm not trying to defend the driver of the rig, but when you hit something with one of those big rigs you usually don't feel it. At least not something as small as a 4 wheeler. I could understand how the guy could drag the trailer's tandems across the back of a car and not notice, especially if it's dark out, but a whole row of cars is ridiculous. Most commercial trucks have stickers on their side mirrors now that say G.O.A.L. Get Out And Look. This meathead obviously didn't do that.

I'm a CDL driver and you do feel if you hit something of that nature. Especially the length of the hit. That driver was either drunk, on drugs, or just down stupid. Sorry for your loss and I hope all goes well for you in the end.

Sent from my hawn finga using IH8MUD

Seen worst. Fixable. Worst case make it a pick up.
