Going through this thread for the first time. Awesome read.

The before and after here... what a great angle and comparison. From this angle the top picture comes across as a teenage ready to rumble... the lower picture is one more of stated elegance and class. Not saying one is better then the other... but the subtle difference is quite striking...

Well, its time for a lunch break...the huz has stripped the interior, I removed the hood and the kid is sanding parts and pieces. I just finished sanding the underside of the hood then its primer time. Ive also got hinges and latches "cooking" in my new electrolysis bin.

Nothing will convince you that you should replace the old emblems more than a fresh paint job!

First off, I don't know how I missed this thread?
Even though I have a 62, my first love, and what brought me back to the LC family, was the 40's. I had one when our first child was born, and let me wife talk me into getting rid of it:frown: (yes, she's still my wife;)). One of these days, I'll get another, 40 that is.

In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through those that have them.:D I have to say that I loved the pic in the parking lot on the first page.

Now, congrats to you for taking on the build. Not too many women I know that would do what you're doing, and apparently enjoy it.
Subscribed to the thread for more info on the reconstruction.

Finally, a huge THANK YOU to your other half for his service:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Navy Corpsmen are top flight IMO:beer:

That looks nice! I have read this thread from the beginning and loved to follow along. Even after going back through it I can't find the post of which paint you went with. Refresh my memory please. Man that looks sweet.
