You guys are approaching it all wrong. My usual tactic is to find burl with his shirt off (easy) and then say "hey Burl, if your were gonna try and use a Dremel to take some aluminum off an adapter, you you use a sand paper roller or would you use an end mill?" Then I would just play dumb and watch that mofo go to work. ;)

One way or anouther it can be done.

Would a router with an aluminum milliing bit work?

I think it will try and rip the router out of your hands and throw the adapter acrost the room!
But its worth a try!! I have a makeshift Rouder table for my router.

Maybe if it was cold out, Burl could just gouge the aluminum out with his nipples.

I've used a router to trim aluminum diamond plate and it worked ok.

Ok so I had some of my plate numbers mixed up. The mc23 is the split case side and is correct. The mc 24 is the one Marlin specifies for the h55. They do not offer this adapter plate at this time. I don't see any markings on the trans side plate that I have, might be in top side and won't find it until we pull this mess out from under the truck.

You guys probably already have this, but just in case, some notes from Cool Cruisers:

H55F - 5 Speed Transmission - Toyota

Also a pic of the oil doohickey.

Nice to hear from you Dan but using the toy box makes that useless. I might try to glue it on just for fun thought

Knowing nothing about this, I see that in the link that Dan provided, Cool Cruisers notes a tap and plug for transmission fluid flow. Does this affect your install with the toybox? If it does, it seems like this could also be related to your fluid being pumped everywhere.

Putting that on the list of things to check once inside. Thanks

D'oh!

Now I see where the doohickey is supposed to go on the front side of the TCase.

i think it's those extra bolts in the Toybox did it.

You need to pull that thing apart and send me some pics. This is the one from my old truck correct?

I think you might be surprised at what you find it should be the later transmission plate that has the oiler groove. Does no one have pics of the transmission adapter before you installed it on the H55.

You know I am working on the fix. Order the oiler nipple ( yep I said NIPPLE ). You need it.

Everyone involved check your phones or cameras and see if you have a pick of the adapter plates taken apart.

Thes are all I got of the toybox.

nobody panic but i found the numbers on the trans side adapter and......................i have the right one:bang: This is good news, the bad news is i still have to figure out why 5th gear is screaming at me. Back to the collar , spacer thing not being tight and maybe moved on us. Funny Cam can almost fix it from Cali and i dont even know what parts i have

What do you guys know about this shim kit ? Is it for the output shaft of the trans , for the split case , or one for each ? I don't have one of these yet but pretty sure I could get one if needed

Hey Stump, i think there is a better chance that we put it in the right place but it has moved. it did not have an issue for the first three hundred miles. If it was not installed correctly it would have been an issue from the beginning. I just hope once we get it out of there we can tell what is wrong and that nothing is damaged beyond repair
