It might have... yes, we need to yank it out again and take a look at that collar. There is clearly something amiss, that the only way to tell is to put eyes on the inside.

I was thinking about the retaining collar come loose.
how many miles till you have to change the gear loob.

let me know what weekend I can come by and help. if its next weekend I can come by I'm going to Tom's Saturday around 2:00 after softball practice.

I was wondering the same thing...

The rear retaining nut came loose on my SM465 and allowed excessive end play on the output shaft. Same symptoms, loud bearing-like noise under load and it goes away as soon as you let off the gas.

In case you haven't seen this, Cam has a nice write-up on post 14.
Who has put a Toybox behind an H55?

We did use red lock tight on the retaining ring bolt. But I wonder if something has loosened up or worn in enought to be off.

I think it needs to come back out and rechecked.

Yes it's only fifth gear
Has 350 miles was going to change oil at 500 but what everwe did put lock tire but don't remember putting a torque value on it
Scheduling is up to Stump and waiting on parts ( if we decide parts are needed)
I did find that thread with Cans input and it also has a photo of the mc24 adapter plate. Mine is mc23.
Still waiting on reply from Georg
Pm from Cam says to use oil cup but he did not reply about different adapter plate. Will follow up with him today.

What do you think the chances are that damage has been done to fifth gear or bearing or sincro. ????

Thanks to everyone for playing along

Maybe , hope not to !!!!!!!!!!!
They marlin site says no longer Available plus it looks like those things run about five bills. And I'm not sure if I have to. The pm to Georg hopefully will give answer to that part of equation. If needed for sure he might also be the best shot at actually getting one

This is a stock split case and the needed oiler.
