Naw. There is one particular dune in the back of the park that is particularly long and steep. You really need power to get you over the top. With the SC I can make it to the top but still not enough to get me over. You will start sliding back down which is why its important to get it into reverse quick for a controlled decent. Its only scary the first time.
The trick with running in the dunes is you have to just stay straight up and down if you get sideways it gets kinda scary but when you go on a big Hills, momentum is your friend and you don't let the transmission up shift on you, you gotta keep it in a lower gear & let the engine Rev. I was pulling all the hills in 1st gear only putting it in 2nd on straits going over like 35mph.That's what my wife said...both times.
No, she didn't really say that, but was a little embarrassed about backing down.
Yup. Similar to snow climbs. Don't fear the rev limiter. Although snow around here is more gentle, I bottomed out my suspension more times than I liked to admit playing in the Oregon dunes. The trick with running in the dunes is you have to just stay straight up and down if you get sideways it gets kinda scary but when you go on a big Hills, momentum is your friend and you don't let the transmission up shift on you, you gotta keep it in a lower gear & let the engine Rev.
