November Update

Wow, what an awesome couple of months. I have been fortunately blessed enough to get in two family trips & a couple of mods done.

Here are the highlights:
7 day Yosemite area family trip.

Dual battery & fridge

Rebuilt my starter, again & finally replaced two exhaust mounts.

Upgraded to a Fj60 hood support .

I also added a 6 curcit fuse panel under the passenger seat. For the dual batteries I decided on the Blue Sea 7611 to seperate the batteries.

I was able to raise the bunk beds up to slide some storage bins under them & cut in some new 12x18 slider windows.

We just came back from a wonderful time at Turf N Surf 2016 I will post up pics in next post.

We just got back from a Super Fantabulous Time at Turf N Surf 2016 at Oceano State Beach in California. It was fun to meet up with some familiar people here on ih8mud.
Putting a face to an avatar is fun. I met up with @surfpig @NLXTACY @orangefj45 @sbman @tacorican @mazder @ToyotaDon @pismojim & a bunch more that I can't remember their avatar name exactly...

This was are 2nd annual trip... looking forward to many more trips in years to come.

cool video, but I think the intro gave me epilepsy :o Running out of steam at the top of one of those big dunes would be terrifying!

Naw. There is one particular dune in the back of the park that is particularly long and steep. You really need power to get you over the top. With the SC I can make it to the top but still not enough to get me over. You will start sliding back down which is why its important to get it into reverse quick for a controlled decent. Its only scary the first time.

That's what my wife said...both times.

No, she didn't really say that, but was a little embarrassed about backing down.

The trick with running in the dunes is you have to just stay straight up and down if you get sideways it gets kinda scary but when you go on a big Hills, momentum is your friend and you don't let the transmission up shift on you, you gotta keep it in a lower gear & let the engine Rev. I was pulling all the hills in 1st gear only putting it in 2nd on straits going over like 35mph.

Yup. Similar to snow climbs. Don't fear the rev limiter. Although snow around here is more gentle, I bottomed out my suspension more times than I liked to admit playing in the Oregon dunes.

What rpm is the rev limiter at?
I'm guessing if these strait 6 motors can handle a super charger with a bunch of boost just giving it a bit more revs won't hurt.

I have been perplexed on my center console as of lately, I'm definitely not done with this, so out of pure desperation for more space I made an attempt to gain some space... I'm going to try some thin plywood to make this look a little bit nicer. At least I have a place for my phone & the purse... Not my purse by the way, it seems that's where my wify's purse usually lands. I know most married men knows what I'm talking about.

Oh yeah, I mounted a Cobra 29 on the console also.

I don't know why I take vids & post them but I do...

I was on my way home from work & decided to take the short cut through the creek bottom back home. Wow that was a lot of fun... Enjoy the ride!

I made another run the next day.

I can't believe it's been two years now since I brought home this Lx450, what a great ride this 80 has been. It takes me to work & play without complaint... just a solid rig.
