Would you happen to have part #’s for the new seals? I have a set enroute from AUS now. They will probably need to be freshened up!
Awesome, you will love them! Let me look for the info.

Huge thanks to @NookShneer for his help installing the galley-plug fix in Blue Guy. A true friend. Its two threaded plugs back to back with right stuff injected between. Initial tests show no leaking, more testing tomorrow on the highway. :p

Installed a new rear hatch glass weatherstripping which was stressful. There was no leaking but I had been wanting to peek underneath to check for rust. I did find one small surface rust spot. It was treated and painted before reinstall. That back glass is thin, no fun and a second person was key for reinstall (my awesome wife).
I also got some sweet plastic chrome lock strip from @TRAIL TAILOR . This stuff is AWESOME, looks stock but way easier to deal with. Definitely a nice option than trying to reuse old OEM metal lock strip or even new. Using a lock strip install tool was essential.

Perfect joint. Doing this cut was high stakes but I guessed correctly. :smokin:

C,

Looks perfect and nice job.

Thanks! I wish we had been able to let it heat up in the sun first like you suggested, but we have overcast skies forecast for days so just had to make due. Super happy with how it looks.

As you can tell it would have made it more pliable and easier to work with, but it installed great nonetheless for you guys. And YES, a lockstrip tool is essential to install this material.

Andrea will have this new item.... HA up on the website soon.

Been a bit since an update. I have been driving the cruiser a lot for work. Been working great (knock on wood). Still need to do the injector swap  . Hopefully this winter.
Took my daughter camping for the first time this past fall. She sure loves Blue Guy. :)

Recently did a full fluid swap. Still have a small stash of the big filters from @Onur . I'll have to hunt for more soon. Everything looked good thankfully.

Going to slap on some new recovery points from @TRAIL TAILOR this weekend in preparation for the cruiser Christmas tree run next month. Just in case @NookShneer has to pull me out..... :hillbilly:

Blue Guy turned 200k a few days ago. The poor cruiser deserves a good trip onto some actual dirt soon. Way too much pavement pounding being a DD.

Not much been happening. Project list is getting a bit long and I need to start whittling it down here ASAP. I have parts coming out of my ears just sitting around waiting for their turn. I also have a little water leak somewhere that is driving me crazy, I need to figure out the source. I may try some sort of water based dye to locate the intrusion point with a hose.

I know for a fact that Chase has numerous parts stashes ready for projecting.

So what’s the delay?

;)
Ha! You would think I was a hoarder at this point, but I am actually just slow at installing the stuff. Ok, I may be a slight hoarder. I am embarrassed to admit that I still have the hood pad I bought from you in 2014 still sitting in the box! :slap:

Im sure there is a 12 step program for you!

Finally started to work through the backlog of parts I got from @Onur 5 years ago. :P Started with refreshing the front driver's door weatherstripping and greasing the motor pivots. Holy cow the window works SO MUCH better now. Still not fast, but I don't have to push it down or pull it up anymore. hahaha. I was sad to see the new weatherstripping didn't work with the chrome outer trim! :crybaby: Is there a version of the felt wiper belt out there that works with the outer chrome trim?

The filler piece looked like it had to be trimmed. I did cut it shorter. I hope that was the correct move to fill the smaller gap seen here:

Needs more 80s chrome:

While maybe not the ideal DD for mainly highway use. I have enjoyed driving the FJ62 around all the time, especially when the sun decides to come out:

And I have a great helper for keeping it clean:

I did post a detailed description of what I did in another thread. Let me dig it up, or maybe @NookShneer knows the link?
