I like the clean 35" look. What tires around going with?
In a perfect world I will be running the 37 BFG K02 which actually comes out to a 35 with some change. On fjcruiser steelies which will suck it in.

Wasn't your whole reason for this because the SOA and 37s were too ridiculous for dd?

I vote 35s, but I get it...those 37s are bitchin!
Ya ya, I know what I said lol. You know how it is, sitting there staring at the damn thing while drinking a beer can change ones mind pretty quick... plus I'm thinking that this rig is more than likely going to be relieved from dd duties for the long run. Just too expensive compared to the Tacoma to maintain.

McGuire of you go DOWN in tire size I'm going to have to cut a corner off of your man card.

37s bro!!!

Lol thanks for the input guys

Here are a few pics from the last couple of days, front and rear mounts are made so the body is now supported by the frame 100% which is awesome! Motor is in place, still fabbing up some mounts, which should be done today!

Dude! you made huge progress since Chris and I stopped by Saturday! Killer work man!

I move at a snails pace but I'm consistent lol, thanks Alex, and thanks again for making the drive to come check out what I am brewing up!

Any time man! Can't wait for you to finish the rig so we can go camping and exploring!

Done with "phase 2" of the build aka the heavy lifting. Now it's time to get back to Lubbock and finish this monster in my little 1.5 car garage...
He already knows that I am really grateful, but I have to give a shout out to my dad @CenTXFJ60 for letting me use the lift, make a mess of the tools, and in his eyes make the shop look like a tornado blew through lol. All in the name of getting s**t done!!

I have to say, the 12ht was meant to be between these frame rails, fit is perfect, and I still have enough room in the back for my black box doubler. Steering shaft lined up perfectly (needs to be extended). I moved the whole drivetrain foreword about an 1.5" compared to stock for the doubler clearance and so that my oil drain plug wasn't on top of the front sway bar which would have proved to be a pain in the ass during oil changes..

Very pleased with how it's all panning out, updates will be slower with school taking priority, but it'll be ready for summer adventures!

Been knocking out a few odds and ends while I get my "shop" organized.
First was replacing the 60 brake booster with the 80 series unit. @Mr Tibbs could you post a shot like this? You can just do it here so you don't clog up your thread.

Then I went ahead and fitted the 80 series e-brake handle, and I still need to file one of the holes to make it fit. The rubber handle is a lot better than the cheesy plastic one on the 60 series.

My buddy Josh let me borrow his 315 spare to do some test fitting, I know now that 35s will fit good with a 75mm lift kit if I decide to move down..

The plan this weekend is to finish up the rest of the body mounts, that way I can start working on getting the bumpers and sliders mounted back on.

Where are you placing the fuel tank?

:beer::beer:

I have a lot of room for activities in the rear to make the biggest possible tank that I can fit in there!

I like the 35's look better. I am going with a 75mm slinky lift and i think 35s will be perfect. The pictures are with 32s

I like it too, but the used 37 market isn't very strong unless I give them away, so gotta make it work.. did you get the pics via email?

Digging this thread! :popcorn::popcorn::beer::beer:
Thanks man, having a blast!

Worked the majority of the day making storage for my garage and adding some personal touches since it's basically going to be where I spend 99% of my free time. Painted my clutch booster though, so semi productive:)

@cruisermatt gave me a great idea today that I want to share. So I was planning on re-gearing to 4.56 gears from the stock 4.11 gears which would have been roughly $1100-$1200 after getting the necessary tools, install kit, gears, etc. And he suggested that I get the Advanced Adapters 4:1 Split Case gears since they feature a 10% under drive which will make it feel like I have 4.56 gears in the axles. Plus, I will have the T-case apart anyways to install the black-box

So with that being said my low range will be awesome, calculated it out to 216:1 which is over 4x what it was before all of this mayhem started.

Man Mcguire.... this thread is giving my 60 an inferiority complex! Good work brother!

Haha thanks Ryan. Goes both ways, I respect the stock look, just not my cup of tea:beer: Are you getting those 31s in preparation for the Summit this summer?

Hey man... I just put a set of 33's on last week. Went with the BFG KO2's. I'm all set now.

I have the other tire ready for your buddy, just let me know. I can run them up to San Marcos for him too. I'm not far from there.
