sliders are welded to frame. Clearance is close to the body but I wouldn't expect a binding pop sound. Will check.

Swaybar links? Shock bushings/washers?

I have put the shocks back together and missed fitting the shaped washer into the recess in the mount.

No swaybars

Panhard bushings were replaced with OEM
Tierod from steering box to hub were replaced with OEM
Will check shocks.

I will probably try removing the drive flanges and test again. The front flange studs, cone washers and nuts were all replaced with new ones this winter.

I swear there is a little Japanese gnome under there with a f'ing sledgehammer smacking s*** around.

They all needed to be replaced / upgraded anyway. And I usually run with "when it breaks you'll know what to fix" program. But since this seems to be wheel / hub / steering related it scares me.

One thing that I don't think is related but certainly needs attention is the steering box. It desperately needs to be rebuilt.

I apologize for getting off topic here, but this story about not using moly EP grease in wheel bearings has to cease. Have you had issues? I haven't either. For 25 years I have put black moly grease in and on everything. Even the damn container says for "disc brake wheel bearings, etc.".

What about U joints?

its pissing fluid badly and loose. I've got a box in the back seat that I need to rebuild on the bench then I can swap them.

Another possibility for the noise you mention is a steering box bracket that the weld is breaking on. Have you checked that?

Maybe a spring bucket weld breaking free?...I too was concerned the noise was hub/axle/bearing related....reason why I was obsessed. Was glad it turned out to be the panhard rod hitting the diff guard armor.

I had a popping banging noise coming from the front end last year around Cinco de mayo. Came out the next morning and found this....Related? I'm not sure but I found it to be kind of coincidental that the noise was gone in the morning...maybe it had something to do with the bicycle parts I found tangled up in my suspension...damn college town.

You mentioned Slee's plates - any chance the front spring coil is 'snapping' as it rides over the lip of the front bumpstop cup?

I had that with my Slee plates with the ~"2 spacer you bolt in per the kit, I cut thr flared lip off & still rubbed, but it didn't load up & 'pop' past that flared lip.

It came down to swapping in Rick's plates (you weld so it's do-able for you, but 2-3 hrs total labor) over my Slee ones.
Rotating on the inner axle centerline per Rick's plates (@landtank via @NLXTACY ) made the difference to rid that & handling goes back to 100% like factory issued.

You have to cut loose your plate welds & add back the notched area the Slee plate located by, but easily done for those who weld.

I'm not going to do that although its a good suggestion. The front end is going to be three linked. I have most of the parts already in hand.

I know you said the calipers were new but did you actually check the caliper bolts? I still suspect a look caliper bolt. What about the panhard bolts? I had one come loose a while back. The steering box brace could also be cracked. Had that one too.
