Sliders are nice and tight and I like the grip tape. I'd suggest a couple supports between the slider and outrigger tube for more strength but they look good. Supports don't have to be tube, they could be plate with some holes drilled in them.

I am getting a 99 5.7 vortec out of a suburban.

The motor was rebuilt and has only 30K. They had it bored out. I am getting a receipt from the build to see what else was done. My 5.7TBI has 200K on it. I figure this will be a nice improvement. I will be parting out the suburban if anyone wants leather seats(full power) and a 4L60E tranny with 90K on it.

more info to come.

What is the PSI needed for a fuel pump on these?

I need to call the shop and find out what all has been done. The work report was not very detailed other than is was bored out to 383. new pistons, rings, crank, piston rods. Not sure if that means it was stroked. Not sure if it has an RV cam either. Hoping it does. I'll find out.

you cant bore to a 383, to go from a 350 to a 383 it also requires it to be stroked. you can bore .030 over and make a 355 or you can go .040 over but much past that the walls begin to get a little thin for daily driving / continuous duty.

Well I am rethinking. I know I must be crazy. I think I am just going to fix the burb. It is in really great shape. it will be my new daily driver.

my cruiser will just be for wheeling now. Now I can make it a rag top, cage it, and get rid of all the rust on the roof. I got rust popping up on this thing in a bunch of different spots. front doors, roof, uppertailgate, driver's side rocker. Frame is in excellent shape though. I just wheel it hard and not worry so much about the body anymore.

Went out today. found a little spot I could flex a little. My brother in law went with us for his firs trip in his 99 heep. he wanted to keep it easy.

so some pics

No I think it is trail 943 or something like that off Rampart Range. Met a forest ranger who gave me a map of all the legal side trials off rampart. This one had some pretty deep ruts.

some wheeling

Went to Illinois Gulch and played around on little moab hill. I also finished up my rock sliders on the driver's side and added some diamond plate on the rear quarter panel. I need to to the other side now. that will be a little tricky with the gas door.

my limited slip is not working to well. anyone know where I can get a clutch pack kit for it or how I can make it work better?

Damn, I've been dreaming of doing the same thing for a year or two now. You beat me too it!!

how does the limited slip work off road in the rocks? I'm tempted to install it in my rear 60 axle over an arb locker or drop in a 208 and a 14 bolt semi float rear with limitied slip in. I want something that helps in the snow and mud, saves the road manners but gives a little help in the rocks. I like how it works in my 2500hd but thats never been on any type of rocky trail or steep climbs.
