lookin good bro! when we going wheeling? ;)

Thanks Trevor. Bad news though.

well now it looks like it will be a little longer before i get it out on the trail. I was driving around today running errands getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow. I come out of Target and put it in reverse to back out and it starts moving forward. I thought oh must be my shift linkage... NOPE! kick down cable? NOPE! vacuum line... NOPE!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! so I push it out of my parking spot thinking my reverse is shot. start driving and realize i am stuck in 1st gear!!! I am actually stuck in 1st gear no matter where I shift it! Even in park. The park lock-up works, but I can tell I am stuck in first gear because if I rev it at all it feels like it wants to go and it won't rev freely. That feeling like you have your foot on the brake and give it a little gas while in gear. Same thing in park! CRAP! any ideas what the heck is wrong?

getting closer!!!

Got a little more done this weekend. I have decided to get rid of the military wheels and tires. No one will balance them so they contribute to a little wobble. Got some swampers instead on some stock steels. Also got the shifters all done!!!

DOUBLE LOW ROCKS!!! Can't wait to test it out!!!

Forgot to mention it but a local guy I meet at Glaser Steel helped bend the tubing for me. He is building a pretty nice Jeep. He has a build thread on colorado4x4 Thanks to Steven, I got the bumpers all done.

ok here are some updated pics.

So I have been looking for ideas for paint jobs. I really dig the retro stripes but I don't wanna do the yellow orange red. I am thinking of going satin brown for the main color, and some satin black stripes. I am gonna scratch it and dent it anyway so I figured satin and dark colors would hide a lot. I need to fix some rust on the roof. So I gotta paint it anyway. might as well have a little fun with it. It will probably be and end of summer project. I still need to finish up some other stuff.

Thoughts or color ideas. anyone good at photo shop?

I actually love the paint scheme you have now... I'd just "refresh" whatcha got.

Problem is I can't get that exact color. I would have to pick a satin gray. Gray would probably look good again. Maybe that with lighter gray stripes. Although, Brown would hide the rust if, or should I say when, it comes back. :)

Whatever I do I am gonna go with the cheap satin rustoleum from home depot. I have a nice sprayer and have years of experience refinishing furniture. I painted my tercel before i sold it. Turned out great! They key is the prep and a clean environment.

TEST RUN!!!

Well, I took it on a little test run today. Went to Illinois Gulch up just past Woodland Park, CO. Most of it was pretty fun but they had a small play area called little moab hill.

It did great.

here are some pics. I am hoping to get video up soon.

When can you go trevor? I think I am ready. Just need to finish up my rock sliders on the rocker panels before anything too crazy. dare I say I'd like to try independence at the end of summer???

Moab Hill is a pretty fun little obstacle, we played on it for a little while when we hit Illinois Gulch as well. Then spent 2 hours extracting a hydrolocked xj owned by a not so bright highschooler in one of those small pits that flood when it's rainy.

I see you got rid of the Hummer MTR's. I think you will be way happier with the swampers. I have a friend who got a set of the hummer tires and he likes the fact that they are dirt cheap, but they don't work very well and have really thin sidewalls.

Stoked to see pics on the trail Tony. Nice work.

I definitely like the swampers! They grip well. almost ripped off an entire lug actually. Good thing i have a spare!

I am hoping to fix the roof soon Mark. Any color combo ideas?

Gabe, when you gonna help me finish it so we can solid axle swamp that runner?

looks great

So I got a new diff cover because the stock one was paper thin and already had some dings. I pull it off and SURPRISE!!!! I have a limited slip in the rear!

anywho here are the pics.

so I put some grip tape along the top edge. I think I like it. it will help all the short people when they get in and out.
