Cross member done, axel under the front will be welded in the morning. Easy from here

Why did you need to change the steering box holes?

i chose to use everything from an 80 front end, and i tried to keep everything to match the 80 setup. the box on an 80 is about 5.5" forward than the 60 for the track bar and draglink. Also the size of the 80 pitman arm is different. I should have it finished sometime tuesday and you can see the difference.

Looks like you're going to use the transmission crossmember mounts?

I forgot there's a coil spring where the 60 steering box originally was. I'm surprised you had to go with the Slee arms with such low ride height. Should be an awesome street truck once you get some weight in the rear to make those fresh leafs sag a bit. I'm on the lookout for a good edge welting to go around the cut inner fender, post up if you find something good and durable.

Man you did all that great work and then you went and mounted the control arms to the original transmission crossmember mounts.. I just don't think that was a wise engineering move. What are you using for a transmission crossmember now?

Brian, it was good talking to you on Friday. Sorry to cut it short, but I was preparing for a big meeting at work. Anyway, the 12HT would rock in the 45. I can't tell you how the 1HZ-T performs since I just got mine started and I'm about 2-3 weeks out from being derivable.

Been a while since I have been on the forum but a few updates. The 12ht was removed and went to Pat dogfishlake, i should have the 1ht-ft installed in a couple of week. Just waiting on few parts. I am trying to clean out the shop, so i have a 62 rust free frame set up to run 80 front set up just like on my truck if anyone is interest pm me. I will be following up in the next week or two with the build pics

tach question for everyone. I have a 12ht tach and senor that pulls the signal of the flywheel. Does anyone know if the 12ht sensor counts the teeth or is there a sensor on the flywheel. if it counts the teeth, are the 1hz/12ht flywheel the same tooth count. any help is appreciated.

I have a 12HT flywheel in my barn. Can count the teeth if needed.
