Do it! The front is *relatively easy. The rear is more complicated.




*easier & less time consuming than an engine swap.

The 80 frame is several inches wider at the rear axle than the 60, so the coil buckets on the axle have to be cut off and moved inboard. The 60's rear mounted gas tank interferes with harvesting the entire upper coil bucket/ link bracketry arrangement, so it has to be dissected and extensively carved up to fit. And fit is a relative term, because it doesn't fit perfectly. An 80 rear axle on leaf springs is the quick and easy way to go.

The front seems harder at first glance, but once you have the axle centered in the wheel opening, it is just a matter of connecting the dots with the 80 parts and relocating the steering box.

*the fine print is that this only applies to either FJ62s or FJ60s that are no longer using the '85+ factory transmission crossmember mounts as this is exactly where the rear radius arm mounts land.

When I was getting ready to take the tan truck apart, I just couldn’t do it. It is just to nice. Starting a new thread in the 45 section. The chasis and 2uz are going under the 45.

I just saw this same 45, same color, snorkel, roof rack, lifted on oso parkway in mission Viejo,ca today around 6pm. I was riding a Ducati multistrada, dual sport . maybe it was it or one like it, but what are the chances?

I modified the 60 bar to work, I did this on my 62 and it worked great
