On a side note, if you need any used parts you should contact Deo Klein @mel lowe. He has been a friend of mine for a few years. Thanks Onur for the introduction. Anyway, he left his house in Florida at Friday morning and arrived at my house 10:30 that night to bring up a nice 62 with a little front end damage. Upon arrival we unloaded the truck and he said let’s get to work. By 5 the next morning we had disassembled, straitened and reassembled and had it running. It was a lot of fun to have a fellow cruiser head in the shop.

I will second that. I've bought many things from Deo and he is fair and represents the used parts accurately.

Great build thread.

Sleep is for wimps. These guys are rockstars. High on Deo.

This is for those thinking about a diesel swap
After putting about 2000 miles on my first diesel here is what i have noticed.
1. driving style has changed somewhat , spend alot more time at 1/4 throttle letting the motor do the work on getting up to speed
2. i don't think the 12ht is any louder or has any more vibration than the 2f.
3. doesn't change the feel of the truck like a v-8 swap does
4. the simplest engine i have ever had
5. starts at the touch of the switch unlike a gas motor
6. driving in this morning i still have a half tank of fuel and the trip meter is at 214 miles.
7. i don't like the black smoke at start up, wife complains it stinks up the house.

Any vehicle will run without the separator.
But it provides a way for the fuel tank to exhale/inhale when operated off angle.

Put a breather filter in the end of the line up high in the engine bay and be done.

A few updates, I briefly thought about selling this truck but changed my mind. While I like the diesel and it runs great it’s just not what I want. So I had a lot of stuff in the shop so I decided to build the running chasis I wanted do a body swap when finished and sell the complete 12ht chasis as a unit. Plan is a 62 frame 80 front set up with an 80 rear axel. Coils in front leafs in back. 2uz awd

Taking notes on the front coil swap and 2uz. Looking forward to the progress.

Dang that looks cool!

I’m not that familiar with the front 80 swaybar. It looks like you did a fair amount of work to get that to work. Will the bottom of the motor clear it?

Why the choice on the slee radius arms vs. stock?

Nice work Bryan. Excited to keep following this.

Had to use the slee arms to get the correct caster, the sway bar will have to loccaded down some but it’s still sitting high. I will have to adjust it when the weight is on the truck.
