can be used on fj40 without frame?

What is this? Where do you get more info?

It’s a spam post. Person just joined to post that vague photo and hasn’t been back.

When I tried searched to find more I didn’t come across it. Although I didn’t do an image search.

I did find that there are EV solid axles that have an attachment motor. The design looked less than ideal for a 4X unless it was never leaving the pavement.

That post should probably be removed by a Mod.
Kind of messes up the excellent original thread on the build.

It’s been over a year since any update. Is it still a build or vaporware?

The 40 got completed. I seem to remember they were working on a 60 but I never get over to the 60 section.
This thread probably should remain for the interesting tech. The above poster, if it is a valid post, should start a new thread.

I was looking forward to seeing the electric motor mounting direct to the T-Case and no transmission. Mentioned in post # 362.

Company is still around. hopefully they will give some updates someday.

Happy 4th Weekend! Been a bit underwater working on some big things for EGT and our products... Hoping to catch up with some neat FJ build stuff here.... Happening this year with more updates to come:

1. FJ40 #1 (Original eCrate Concept Build) - Will be upgrading it with a new 2023 Batter pack custom for this build......

2. FJ40 #2 - Coming back from Paint soon and 3rdQ this year we aim to start fab and fitment of the eGT413 Direct Drive System. Combination effort of R&D build with intention os having a bolt in production system solution for FJ40... We have lots of interest and keen to get this newest system on the road and into client 40's.

3. FJ62 - System completed and we have wrapped up the bracket and fitment of the system..... Just getting ready for a big push through the wet system installation, wiring, & plumbing. The D110 has the same system with @80 kWh and performs very well. Fast and well balanced..... It came in at 5200 lbs 5@ 0/50.

62 will have H55 - EFJ60-5 speed.

Wet Motor block, wired up and fully tested.... ready for fitment and then installation in this photo..

eGT413 Motor mated to H55... Clutch assembly pending final drop in.

Great use of Pan Fuel Tank area. Flat pack of 14 module and another 6 module EGT battery enclosure tucked under and forward conveniently absorbs 45kWh of the pack.

Mid mount pack adds 13 kWh to system...

Lots more to come as we ramp up to drive this summer.

Awesome! How much cruising range do you anticipate with the upcoming bolt-in 40 series package?

Always a good question..... (for the 60 & 40) We found the D110 at 5300 lbs completed was running 2.2 m per kWH in 2x4 and at 80 MPH on the 405 in 4x4 was eating 1.5. Slower stop and go should run @ 2.5 Would expect some increase in efficiency with the direct drive variant coming next. Pushing a lot of classic steel in a less than aero format.... Just add a few more home solar panels

So if vehicle has 80kWH battery capacity and eats 2.2 m per kWH it would have a range of 80/2.2=36.4 miles right? Or the better case of eating 1.5 would give it a range of 53 miles? hmmmm....

Maybe more coffee?? :coffee:... 2.2 miles per kWH.... T

yes I reversed it, sorry - care to comment on the vehicle range calc results?

edit - as I reread your post I'm still confused... if the D110 was going 2.2 mi per kWH then an 80 kWH pack would take it 176 miles. But what were you talking about eating 1.5 on the highway and possibly 2.5 with easy driving?

just trying to understand how far it can go...

On the highway it has a range of 120 miles. Easy driving is like 200 miles.

What’s the expected investment in this build(s)?

Their website says $49,000 just for the electric motor and battery pack.

That’s a pretty standard cost I’ve seen on a few places, I was kinda curious if there are added costs just to adapt the FJ’s to make them ready. I’ll look at the site though, maybe 49k is all in.

Thanks and keep posting your photos on IG!
