Thanks for following and sharing input! One thjing we do well is not follow the playbook on builds. Open to all kinds of input and idea noodling..... Trying to keep the cluster analog looking in the OEM holes with appropriate info.. Speed Hut has good integration with the CAN comms we use.. and offer design flexibility... . The 5" digital screen is optional but good to have and will get buried in the glove box....

The family ski wagon 62 likely has a name and we will have to inquire. ;)

Gotta Love the Speed Hut Team again.... Base level image selection and super functionality for the EV swap and will be nicely integrated into the dash cluster area... What do you think of this layout?

I'm curious, what is the unit of power that the gauge is reporting and how is it sensed?

Funny!... serious question for OP though, I assume KW based on level of current flowing in or out of the battery pack?

Sorry if stupid question - not familiar with EVs

I do like the gauges.....simple and neat....but yea, the 'power' gauge needs a legend or scale

RPMs of what?
It does need a kW under the Power. Sticker time:) Fix for next round noted.

Speed Hut customized EV FJ replacement gauges coming out clean and functional. NIce to have them added to our system linup for turnkey EV Plarform & system offerings. :p Thoughts?

Remember this coming in a while back? Well its back after a mild restoration.... ;) Will be fitted with a new 750lb 63kWH "Motor Block" nicely replaceing the front weight perfectly and an additional tucked in rear pack for 73 kWH total..... 300HP direct drive to T case system. Easy install system coming out of our large manufacturing facility....Not cheap but a very advanced system and likely the best one yet for 40's that is commercial available now through Tremec EGT.. Cool. Stay tuned if interested and Ill fill in the build story on this which starts next week.

The FJ62 will be in Pioneer Town this coming weekend with the AetherAparrel event having some fun and participating in the 4x4 drive along with our 911 Porsche Safari.. Will post some media of the event post weekend.... Will be out there Friday and Saturday and welcome to find us at Pioneer Hotel in town.....

I am running a series wound DC motor. Unlike an ICE higher rpm is not more power.

As the rpm goes up the power curve levels off. When I want to pass someone I shift up to a higher gear to lower the rpm and gain more torque.

I am pretty sure the AC motor works the same.

Remember, Horse power is how fast you are going when you hit the wall. Torque is how far you can move the wall.
I'm pretty sure mass and velocity coupled with the construction of the wall has more to do with how far you move the wall than torque but, I catch your drift.

I am not intending to rain on your parade, it should be an interesting and unique build. But, why not pick another vehicle other than this iconic and increasingly rare car. Other than the "something different" factor it is about as practical as a nuclear hand grenade. Just my humble opinion. Again good luck and will be watching your progress.
As more and more of these are converted to electric, y'all are going to start liking us V8 guys.

Battery Electric cars are not selling. Almost every manufacture and mandate for their use is slipping farther out. I would love a car that could drive for 30 years before refueling - Mr. Cold Fusion, but I'm not holding my breath.
Demand Air Force 1 be all electric first to lead the way.

From my mom's ration days of WWII. If they rationed locomotives some people would stand in line to get one. There is a market for almost anything, sometimes the market is small; very small.

"In the first quarter of 2025, US EV sales experienced a significant 11% increase, reaching approximately 300,000 units, according to Cox Automotive. "

EVs I guess have their place…just not in my garage. They are like most cars today…boring. They all look the same no soul no style. The cruisers above look good but make me yawn. My buddy has a Tesla plaid, fast sure but no soul. Nothing out there is worth the $ they are asking and it is a throw away vehicle. I saw a 100 year old rolls Royce the other day at the gas station. 100 years old and still going. I don’t see EVs making it that long. How long the batteries going to last and how much to replace, not me. Look at the style and craftsmanship of the Rolls. Royce. Tucker had a pretty fascinating podcast with Casey Putsch a few weeks ago about the auto industry. I’d rather have something I can work on and simple with no computer that’s not going to get thrown away. I’ll go back to playing with my diesels and carburetors now.
